Alpha Phi Alpha Documentary

The Alpha Phi Alpha Documentary has been released and is currently being aired on PBS stations across the country. In order to get this documentary aired on a larger national scale, please contact your local PBS stations directly. Speak with the program director and explain that Alpha Phi Alpha: A Century of Leadership is being offered for national broadcast by Maryland Public Television via the National Educational Television Association in South Carolina. When approaching your local PBS stations about the documentary, please provide the following information:

Alpha Phi Alpha Men: A Century of Leadership

presented by NETA (National Educational Telecommunications Association) and MPT (Maryland Public Television).

It's disappointing that the Maryland PBS stations are running the documentary at 1 AM. Since MPT produced it, one would think these stations would give it a better time slot.

It aired on January 15, from 8pm to 9:30 (on MPT channel 19- Baltimore) I was able to watch it from 9p.m. I enjoyed it and learn a lot. (I did not realize the president of Howard is an Alpha !

He's actually an Omega and APO member..... I really wish they hadn't had the APhiA icon next to his name when he spoke.

I don't know about everyone else, but I am really excited about Alpha Phi Alpha turning 100 years old! That is a great milestone for not only Alpha but for all BGLO's!

My fault Senusret. I just assumed he was an Alpha by the icon...I definitely enjoyed the program otherwise and applaud the programs that Alpha Phi Alpha is doing.

While flipping around last Sunday before the Super Bowl, I happened across the documentary. Unfortunately, I only saw the last hour of the documentary. But what I was was excellent. In both content and production.

In that short hour, I felt privileged to learn so much about the history of Alpha Phi Alpha. Not just seeing the commitment of the men of Alpha Phi Alpha to their fraternity but also their their aggressive vision of service - from the past, in the present, and for the future. It is truly inspirational.

All in all, I highly recommend catching this documentary. Hopefully, it will be shown again locally and I'll be able to see the first hour. If it is half as good as the last hour, then it should be a treat.

anniversary, a documentary has been created to highlight some of the major
contributions made by Alpha Phi Alpha men, chapters, and the organization as
a whole to black Americans throughout our history.

We encourage all to view this documentary not so much as Alpha history, but
rather to acknowledge a little recognized piece of our Black History.
