Alpha Gam Recognized as Woman of the Year

The Greater Oklahoma City Panhellenic Association named Jill Harris Pitzer, Upsilon-University of Oklahoma, Alpha Gamma Delta’s Woman of the Year and recognized her at the March 2002 annual Women of the Year luncheon in Oklahoma City. Each year the association honors women from each member group for their sorority and community contributions. The proceeds from the luncheon funded seven scholarships for area women entering college this fall.
Jill is active in both the Oklahoma City Alumnae Club and the Norman Alumnae Chapter and she is currently Co-Chairman of Philanthropy of the Norman Alumnae Chapter. Since 1993, Jill has been on the Board of Directors for the House Association at Upsilon Chapter, University of Oklahoma.
An active volunteer in her community, Jill has been a member of the Central Oklahoma Leadership Council of the Alzheimer’s Association since 1997. She is a past member of the State Board of the Alzheimer’s Association. Currently, she serves on the Education Committee of the association. As Chairman of the Alzheimer’s Association, Jill coordinated their fund-raiser, The Memory Walk, in 2000 that raised $65,000 for research and education.
Jill is also involved with CONTACT, a 24-hour suicide/crisis helpline and education service. As facilitator of the Choices program for the organization, Jill speaks to middle and high school students about suicide and suicide prevention. In addition, since 1999, Jill has been involved with City Arts by serving on the planning committee for their Café City Arts Party. Jill is also very active in her church.
Jill lives with her husband, Clint, and their two daughters, Anna (4) and Caroline (1).
Jill wears the Arc of Epsilon Pi.
