What do you do all day long????
Big Brothers and sisters
It's 3:20 in the morning and I have nothing to do- I think I'l just stay up all night on my favorite website GC! WEll how bout you tell me about YOUR daily schedule when do you get up, is it a hassle to get ready in the morning with all these girls, what classes do you take, are you busy, what social events do you take part in, do you like to party, what time do you go to bed, are you up this late? Just a few( I mean many) questions about the life of a college greek brother/sister. All this stuff is new and fun to me- I wanna know everything! hehe see you in the morning! Your lil adorable greek sista!

I'll try to give you an idea of my daily schedule, even though it is from a fraternity member's point of view. Right now, during the summer, it is pretty chill. For instance, this week, I am working 7 am-4 pm shifts, and then after that, I just hang out at the fraternity house and then go to bed.
During the school year, it's way crazier! I have class starting between 8 am and 10 am, depending on the day. One semester I was able to schedule my noon hour off, but I've only been that lucky once. For this upcoming fall semester, I will have class straight through from 10 am until 4 pm on Mondays, that will be especially rough! Often, I will have meetings for various campus organizations during the lunch hour when I can make it. After school, I usually have a couple hours free when I should be studying but instead it's usually spent playing pool in the rec center or watching tv And then evenings are spent studying or more meetings. That will happen when you're involved in a greek organization, student government, IFC, and other stuff all at once!
So when the weekend rolls around, I am definately ready to relax and unwind with my brothers and other friends. Living in the house is great for that, there is never a dull moment or a time when I'm bored. Occasionally there will be a time when I'm fed up with somebody, but I'll just take a walk or go study somewhere else and the problem will always seem to blow over. Anyway, it's probably time to end this rambling post, so everybody have a great day!

Like the previous poster said.. the Summer is much more laid back for me as well.
I get up around 7AM, go to my Mon-Fri class which is 9:20-10:20. I'll then eat lunch and on Monday-Wednesday from 1-5PM I work as a reporter on the school's TV station (we broadcast to the whole city). The show is at 5:00 I anchor on Mondays and Wednesdays..... After that I pretty much hang out.
On Sundays at the fraternity house we have Executive Council sessions where we basically coordinate Summer activities, pay bills, do what has to be done.

Wow, you guys are a lot busier than I was when I was in school! I took a pretty light schedule, though....
I would generally have 2 classes a day... one around 10-12 and another from about 1-3, and once a week I'd have a night class running 6p-9p. On the days I didn't have that night class, I'd usually work from 3-5 or 3-6 each day at my on-campus job.
Monday nights from 9pm - God only knows (usually 10:30 or 11:00, although we did go to almost 2am once....) we would have our sorority meeting, and traditionally would meet up with other fraternities and sororities afterwords to hang out, or if you were 21, that was the big greek night at the bars. (free pool!)
Add in a few interspersed meetings here and there during the week for exec board and stuff, and that was pretty much it! The rest of the time was spent studying, hanging out with friends, and most importantly, sleeping

As everyone has mentioned, summer is more laid back....I am working close to full time during the summer at a job that I love. (Usually 3pm -11pm or 11pm-7a shifts).
During the school year, it's very hectic. This upcoming semester, I have class starting between 11 am and 1:10 pm, depending on the day. This semester, I was able to schedule most of my classes in the afternoon (LUCKY ME!) But, also, I have 2 campus jobs: tour guide and tutor. These will also keep me very busy. Usually, the only free time I have is during lunch...TIME MANAGEMENT COMES IN HANDY!!!!!!!!! After class, I should be studying, but usually I'm not....I'm usually on the computer or watching tv.. My evenings are full as well: I either study or have meetings. This will happen when you're busy around campus.
On weekends, I am out usually causing trouble *lol* with my friends and sisters.
But, I hope that you got a glimpse into my world....

Do you guys get to stay in the house all year or do you have to move out in the summer? Do you get a choice if you want to stay during the year or are you only allowed a a year or so to stay?

That varies quite a bit from school to school, and chapter to chapter. My chapter is unhoused, but some of the other chapters from my alma mater had houses and were able to stay in them during summer as well as the school year. However, I also have heard of chapters that were not allowed to stay in housing outside of the school year.

My schedule!
Yup, summer is pretty much lame in here as well (I work 8-4, then just chill in the evening)
Typical days of my life. Last semester, Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. I got up at 9 to prepare my 10 o'clock class. The class went until 11, then I had 2 hrs break until 1 o'clock, when I had studio until 5. After supper and a little bit break, I had to attend another class at 6-9. And the rest of the night, I spent countless hours on my projects and studios (remind you, I am landscape architecture major).
Tuesday. I had class from 8-9, and 11-12.30. Then I worked from 2-5. Dinner time was from 5-7 (well, break time as well), then at 7, I had meeting with my Greek Week committee. Meeting usually ended around 8.30, then I did my homeworks and projects.
Keep it active!

Your enthusiasm about Greek life is so refreshing, Forito Baroulko.
My summer days are soooo lazy, but my school year schedule is pretty hectic.
I'm gonna have a semester-long "case of the Mondays" and a maximum course load
8ish--wake up
9:30-11:30--classes
11pm-2--lunchtime at the house, study time, nap time, errands
2-5--more classes
5--dinner
6:15--Chapter meeting
7:30-10--for a couple of hours--god knows what, but I'll definitely be either goofing around, actually being productive, or helping with something sorority-related b/c I'll be in the house anyway
10--go out...every night of the week there is SOMETHING to do...Thursdays especially.
And factor in all the philanthropies, socials, etc. Full calender of stuff.
I want to get more involved on campus, but I'm sure I'll fit it all in somewhere. The other weekdays dinner is later and there are no meetings. Daytime is meant for getting things done and night time is meant for having fun. Needless to say, I love whoever invented caffeine pills and I love my coffee! (But no, I am not pulling a Jesse from "Saved by the Bell"...)

Let's see...
My weekdays:
7am: My alarm clock goes off. I hit snooze about four times. Around 7:30, I drag myself out of bed. I walk into my bathroom and try putting contacts into my halfway shut eyes.
8:15am: I realize I am late and I make a mad dash out of my apartment.
8:25am: I stop by Dunkin Donuts. I get a sesame bagel with cream cheese and a strawberry-orange-banana fruit drink.
8:35am: I sneak into work five minutes late hoping that my manager doesn't notice.
9:15am: For the past few minutes, I have been blankly staring at my computer screen trying to wake myself up.
11:30am: Lunch time!
3:30pm: Time for me to leave work.
3:40pm: I get home and crawl into bed.
5:15pm: Alarm clock goes off and it's time for me to get ready for class.
6pm: Class begins.
8pm: Class gets out. I run home, eat dinner, study, and spend whatever time is left in my day with my friends and boyfriend.
Weekend:
noon: Start waking up.
1pm: Get breakfest.
1:30pm: Go to the pool.
4pm: Leave the pool.
5pm: Watch TV for a few hours.
9pm: Start getting ready to go out.
10pm: Run to the ZTA or Kappa Sig house so I can meet up with my friends so we can party downtown.
I love the weekends!!!!!!

Well, the summer is pretty relaxed... I work almost everyday, hang out with friends, go to clubs, and go down the shore.
But at school, I always seem to be worn out or tired...probably due to the lack of sleep I get from staying up all night to finish work that I usually put off until the last minute.
This next semester will be my very first <sigh> 8am class on Mondays. Never had one, and I really hope I can drag my butt out of bed to go to it. So Mondays will be my longest day because they start early and end late because of meeting. HOPEFULLY, I will get an internship also, so that will take up lots of time. Other than classes, interning, and being involved in PHA and on my chapter's exec. board, I will try and have time for other campus activities.
The rest of my free time is spent "power napping", working out, going to PHA meetings, planning programs for my chapter, and hanging out with my sisters and friends.

My chapter is unhoused, but one sorority on my campus has a house. It's first come, first serve, by seniority.
