My first DVD ever was Gladiator..

If you have a surround sound system, the soundscape is awsome. If you don't have a surround sound system, get one! It makes such a huge difference.

First DVD I got was The Matrix. I highly recommend it.

I second the vote for a good surround sound system, though some larger TVs have virtual surround sound, which is decent.

As far as the home theater stuff goes if you don't have one, you can pick one up for like $300 at Radioshack or Best Buy or whatever. Not a great one, but you'll notice a huge difference.

I'd say that if you don't have a surround sound system you're missing out on about half of the benefits.

Thumbs up

Legally Blonde is great...it's almost worth buying just for the deleted scenes!

Thumbs up Just love DVDs!

I personally would recommend "Gladiator", "Harry Potter" , and any movies you like. Oh, and don't forget "Stigmata", which is really cool in DVD version, because then you can choose the ending of the movie. There are two ending stories in it ...

Well, I went to my local Borders. I bought two DVDs. They are:

1) Dr. Strangelove....
2) The American President ( my fav. movie)

I think the next time I will probably get some Kevin Smith movies or Best in Show.
