Question I need ideas for our web page????

We are just putting together our web page. We have some good ideas about getting our alumni involved but we need an idea about how to reach incoming students. Any idea would be appreciated

Getting non-sisters/brothers active in a site is two fold: Publicity and Development.

Publicity:
* Include the URL on Flyers and handouts.
* Encourage sisters/brothers to include the URL in their .sig file (contact information attached at the end of email, posts, etc).
* Add your pages to sites such as greekpages.com, greekzone.com, etc as well as those at your University, and Nationals (if applicable).

Developing a well site is easier said then done. My chapter is currently revamping our site (URL below). The first sections that went in was on Rush. We expanded the section to include show a positive greek life, explain our Rush/Candidate (New Member) Program, and explain who we are and the benefits of involvement. Two sections in development our history and our Resources (links). Because our sorority is a social sorortity for women in technical studies/fields, we hope to reach others with our resource pages which will reflect links to scholarships, jobs, organizations in the technical area.

Much of reaching non-memebers (and members for that matter) deals with the focus of your pages. I'll be willing to talk about ideas via email if you want.

Good Luck and post the site when you have them up, I'm always interested in see other's pages!

I highly recomend putting as many pictures as you can up. Keep them clean, i.e. no alcohol, and show as many sisters/brothers as you can. Try to keep them organised by semester and have a lot of your older pics up there with alumni. It will remind them when they visit the site of how much fun they had. Also, when potentiol new members look at the site they will start to remember faces. Have captions explaining the event and what not. Try to imagine yourself as a someone who has no idea what anything is on the site and you need everything explained a little.

I created the webpage for my chapter. Having never done it before I looked at all the other Phi Sigma Sigma chapters websites to see what they had on theirs. I have now created a very basic website for my chapter while I learn how to use other programs. In the meantime I'm checking out other GLO websites just to see what elements I like about their pages versus what I don't like (ie something downloads too slow).

Good luck and post your URL once it's up. Our URL is www.csudh.edu/pss
