Haunted Houses
Are there any places in your hometown that claim to be haunted?
Flint, Michigan
Name: Whaley Mansion
A pioneer in the automotive industry, Mr. Whaley and his wife brought a large Victorian mansion. Now a local historic site, the house is allegedly haunted. It is said that contractors were remodeling the house when suddenly something or someone threw a plastic tarp over the second floor banister. The tarp levitated for several seconds before finally floating to the ground. It is alleged that if one enters the house, the very strong presence of a female, perhaps Mrs. Whaley, can be felt.
Name: Holiday Inn - Downtown Flint
Built on a cemetery that was thought to be abandoned, corpses have turned up around the building. The building is now thought to be haunted, by the deceased still beneath the foundation. One phenomenon that is noticed is inexplicable loss of power.

My work is "supposedly" haunted. It's in Grosse Pointe. I have never really heard of anything. Also, the Whitney in Detroit is haunted by david Whitney himself. I guess there are rports of people seeing him walking around. And of course, the Pike house!

Ok for one, I don't understand how anyone can live in the Pike house after hearing some of those stories... too damn scary!
Greenfield Village is haunted. Some of the cottages are blocked off because the ghosts would throw stuff at the people touring through there. Also everything is bolted down in those houses because the ghosts would move things around, or sometimes throw them. My big used to be a lifeguard in their pool, and her co-workers would sometimes experience weird things.
Me...I'm chicken shit so you won't see me around ANY haunted houses, altho there's a house a few blocks away from my work that is definately haunted. It's on Biddle in Wyandotte and is called the Marx Home.

I live in eastern Kentucky, which is full of ghosts and fairies and all manner of things you don't want to come across in the night, and just about everywhere you go around here there's a supposedly haunted place. I would say more, but I'm like you PM_Mama, I'm chicken sh** too!

Yikes! Scary stuff is all around where I live in Indiana. Just imagine the corn fields with high corn.....YIKES! But anyways, I like alot of people in this world love to be scared! My friends and I always do stuff at the "haunted" places in our area. Like we have a crybaby bridge and supposedly if you turn your car off it is not supposed to start, but the bridge itself is really scary, so we usually dont try it! We also have the shoe tree which is a tree with a bunch of shoes in it that supposedly has a guy that will kill you if you get out of your car around it. And then there is blood road where if you go down one side of the street you see blood but if you are on the other sid then you dnt. It is kind of freaky! There are buildings on our campus that are supposedly haunted too, but I am not completely sure of the stories! Oh btw....does anyone know if Charleston, SC has a ghost tour or anything?

I think this was mentioned somewhere on the forum but one of the dorms on my campus is suposedly haunted. I go to school at Morehead State University in Kentucky. Nunn hall is suposed to be haunted by some girl that jumped off the building from the second floor. I don't know if this is true but I am moving in there this semester and I am scared!! I don't do any of that ghost stuff I am a chicken. I guess I will find out if it is true.
