Does anyone think that the "Buy your SAEP shirt before they run out!" popup is a little weird? Maybe I'm just stingy because I'm a member of an NPC, but wouldn't you want to reserve that right to members only?

That pop up has been on their website for awhile. I think the proceeds went to one of their philanthropies

They were created after an AEPhi chapter closed on their campus . . . they thought that there was a need for a primarily Jewish sisterhood. Apparently the AEPi fraternity helped them quite a bit, so they named themselves Sigma AEPi for "Sisters of AEPi." They are local right now. They had one chapter at San Diego State University for a while, but I think those girls changed their name to something else, possibly because they want to affiliate with a national group. After the first season of Sorority Life, apparently something like 15 campuses contacted SAEPi wanting to start up SAEPi groups of their own, so they have interest groups on at least a couple different campuses now, but no other chapters yet.

DZO is local, and so far I haven't heard anything about them expanding to more campuses, but I suppose that could change in the upcoming weeks.

They actually developed quite some time after the AEPhi chapter closed. The AEPhi chapter closed in 1995, and Sigma-AEPi was founded in 1998. So none of the founders were AEPhis. (at least, I don't think so)

As for the shirts, GLOs at my school often sold t-shirts at charity fundraisers and the like. The proceeds, along with the proceeds from the event itself, went to charity. Non-members are "entitled" to wear it because they were at the event. Although I don't recall anyone ever actually buying one...

I just saw a better AFN commercial! It was based on the X files show only it was Mulcher and Schully and Mulcher was calling Schully to tell her that even though both of them had their cholesterols check a few months ago they need to have them checked again because of the hidden cholesterol in foods! The extra-cholesterolies or something! What a joke! lol
