Question Fraternity-Sorority ratio...

i'm just wondering what the ratio for fraternities to sororities is at your school?
at sdsu there is 13 fraternities to 9 sororities.
there are often times when some fraternities don't have anyone to have exchanges or events with because there isn't an equal ratio. one of the schools across town has the opposite problem, there are more sororities than fraternities.
what is it like on your campus? what problem do you have?

3 sororities, 2 fraternities

We usually do stuff with all the organizations at our school. We also hold many mixers with fraternities from another University very close by (they have 11 fraternities and 5 sororities).

Back in the day

When I was in school, there were 6 NPC and 1 local sororities and 12 IFC and 2 local fraternities. Some of the sororities with a total of 85 were almost twice the size of the fraternities with 40-something brothers.

At IU, we have 24 fraternities and 19 sororities. Howevever, SAE and Delts were suspended this past semester so they are not active right now. Also, we may be getting Sigma Sigma Sigma.

I think everyone pairs for events pretty easily especially since IFC and Panhel are the ones who pair houses for IU Sing. But, we do a pretty good job when we have to pair for homecoming and Little 500.

Our biggest problem is that we are losing fraternities right and left. IU is a dry campus and the Dean is getting pretty strict with those alcohol violations.

We have lost Betas, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sammies, and Theta Chi...and this was all while I have been at IU.

Also going to SDSU, I know what he means. We just learned that beta Theta Pi and Lambada Chi Alpha are going to recolonize within the next year, making 15 fraternities plus TKE, and 9 sororities. All the sororities have over 100 girls (I think), and some of the fraternities only have 20-30 guys. So, you're right J. sometimes doing these events are impossible.

Wanna hear lopsided? My campus currently has 18 fraternities and 4 sororties. Even granted that the campus is two-thirds men, that's still crazy.

Boys:
Betas
Sigma Nu
Phi Delt
Deke
DTD
Phi Tau
Phi Kap
Sigma Chi
DU
Phi Psi
Theta Chi
Fiji
ZBT
AEPi
SAE
Sammy
Sig Ep
Zeta Psi

Girls:
A Chi O
A Phi
Phi Mu
Sigma Psi (local)

The NPHC chapters are represented by the city-wide chapters, but there are currently only about five or six students from CWRU in them.

Iowa State has 29 fraternities and 15 sororities, so for Homecoming or Greek Week, two fraternities (big and small) pairing up with one sorority. So far, we have no problem with the system

UF has 24 fraternities and 16 sororities. 5 multicultural fraternities and 5 multicultural sororities, I think.

Works out well at Homecoming b/c there is some competition for sororities so courtship is more fun.

24 PHC sororities? I thought as of last Fall Recruitment the number was down to 20+1 that wasn't an NPC?
