Good question. The political answer is the black man being that we can't be stereotyped. There are other answers though. Some chapters use the blue devil. Others use the wolf. Some use the camel. Some use the white lion. Last time I checked nationally there isn't one. I'll check with some of the bros I know and see if there ever was one.

Correct me if I am wrong Frat, but I was told that your official mascot is the Dove as is ours...

Someone else sent me an email concerning the same point. The way I understand is that the dove is the mascot of Zeta Phi Beta Sigma and the cat is the motto of ZPhiB. I may be wrong. I talked to my parents about this (mom Iota '78 father Beta Xi '79). They said that sounded about right. I'm in this to learn so please let me know if I am wrong.

Frat, I am curious too as to know what PBS's national recognized symbol/mascot. I thought it would have been the dove too but what I've seen so far is the cresent and the Sigma or those two together. Email me offline when you get a chance.

I think people are incorrectly using the term "mascot" in place of "symbol" in this scenario. The Dove and the Crescent are symbols used by Sigma that have meanings known only to members. Phi Beta Sigma does not have an official "mascot".

outside
from an outside stand point Phi Beta Sigma's symbol is a dove, Zeta is a cat, Omega is a dog, AphiA is an ape, Nupes are the playboy bunny, Dst is the Elephant, Aka is ivy, Iota is the centaur, and Sgrho is a dog. thats just my stand point.

The offical symbol of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is a Dove not a "cat". Thats from an inside stand point.

Thank you Soror for clarifying that. I was about to put my two cents in it.
This is from an inside stand point as well.

The elephant is not an official symbol or mascot of Delta Sigma Theta.
This is also from an inside stand point

You gotta a sista about to faint. From the inside again, Sigma Gamma Rho's official mascot is not just a "dog". Our mascot is the elegant and refined French Toy Poodle.
