Liar's Game
As a big Eric Jerome Dickey fan, I have to recommend his new book "Liar's Game". I finished it in only a couple of days. I also purchased my own copy of Soror Tajuana Butler's book "Sorority Sisters". I read it last year. (I actually borrowed it from a Delta friend of mine who highly recommended it). I finally added it to my personal library. Happy reading everyone!

Without giving too much away, the book deals with relationships, keeping secrets and telling lies. He deals with several different issues in the book. There are older woman/younger man issues, single mom issues, new relationships and how honest should you really be issues... And much much more! Very enjoyable reading.

Soror PinkCashmere,
How does it compare to Milk in My Coffee? Better? I hope so, I thoroughly enjoyed that one.
The only thing I didn't like was that I read a review on Amazon.com and it gave away one of the surprises.

Hi Sorors and SF's,
I'm a faithful reader of Eric Jerome Dickey! I can't wait to read his new one. If any of you haven't read his book Friends and Lovers I would like to recommend that one. I have that one and Sister Sister in paperback and was wondering if any of you knew where I could purchase those two from in a hard cover? Or is it too late since they are now in paperback?

Good Morning Sorors & SFs!
Soror Taykimson: "Liar's Game" is better than "Milk In My Coffee" (in my opinion). My favorite is still "Friends and Lovers".
Soror SkeeWee14: Try getting the hardback editions at Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com.
Have a wonderful day!

SkeeWee14,
Have you thought of becoming a member of Doubleday Book Club? All their books are hard cover. They have many of Eric Jerome Dickey's novels. They also have a great African-American fiction section.
I only buy hard cover books because they last longer. I have been a member now for five years. I would recommend it if you are an avid reader and prefer hardcover books. Also, you never pay full price. Check it out: http://www.doubledaybookclub.com

Hey SF's
I have a question for all you book buffs out there...I know that E. Lynn Harris, has reoccuring characters and themes in his books. I have been told that he is a good author...what is the first book that I should start with if I plan on starting from the begining? Thanks in advance...Oh, and I just read Sorority Sisters on Sunday, can we say 4 1/2 hours straight? I read the book from cover to cover, only to have a bathroom break!!! Oh I hope she comes out with a sequel!!

Onesavvydiva,
Read them in this order: (I think)
Invisible Life, Just As I Am, If This World Were Mine, Abide With Me and Not a day Goes By (Summer 2000). I don't know if Not a Day...has been released yet. Read also, And This Too Shall Pass. You can always go to http://www.elynnharris.com to find more information. Enjoy!

HELLO SISTERS of AKA,
I am THE BIGGEST FAN of ERIC JEROME DICKEY!!! I love his writing so much. I purchased Liar's Game two weeks ago at MEDIA PLAY for $13.17 + tax. I am in OHIO.
I read it and loved it but my all time favorite is, was and always will be FRIENDS and LOVERS!!! Did you know that it is on its way to being a movie!!!???? When I found out, I e-mailed EJD to tell him who should be in the movie!!! Kind of obsessed huh?? My theory is that I did not want the wrong people to be telling MY STORY!! EJD is gifted, I love his dialogue and his flair of how he is real with his characters.
I am a big reader, it is truly my passion. I also loved Sorority Sisters, Sister Secrets (you do have to take notes) and the sequel Beyond Our Mother's FOotsteps.
I don't know if any of you all have read this book, but it is dynamite: THE COLDEST WINTER EVER by Sistah Souljah.
Also(and then I am done), I loved Scenes of a Sistah and GETTING TO THE GOOD PART by Lolita Files (AKA). THat WOMAN can write to make me cry. I would love to see GEtting to the Good PArt become a movie.
Peace and Love,
Carla

OOO, I forgot, who like Kimberla Lawson Roby. Her best was HERE AND NOW but she also has Casting the First Stone. I forget her first one.

Okay guys,
I know you are saying, dangggg, Taykimson is kinda late on reading the posts . The family needs attention, you know how that goes. And besides, I've been too busy finishing Liar's Game. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Now, I've just started Friends & Lovers.
P.S. I bought both books from Amazon.com (my favorite internet store!)

I know I'm a bit late, but I just wanted to add that Abide With Me completes the trilogy of Invisible Life and Just as I am. Reading in order helps a LOT! Just like with E. J. Dickey's books, the characters reappear and you're always going....ooh I remember her! BTW, Lolita Files has a new book coming out some time soon....not sure when though.
Take Care,
Cookee

I can not believe I am just getting put on to Eric Jerome Dickey's books. I am in the process of reading "Cheaters" and I was hooked from the first page! This man is an awesome writer! I have only put the book down to type this, then I'm getting right back to it! I read it during breakfast, in the bathroom...whereever I can. I make it a rule not to ever read "leisure" books once a school semester starts (it takes time from the 60 other text books I am required to read)...but ladies, I broke that rule this semester...this book is irresistible!

Sexy Mocha you aren't the only one just getting turned on to E.J. Dickey! I finished "Cheaters" a couple of weeks ago, and I am about to start "Friends and Lovers"....some of you have said you liked it best...I can't imagine liking it better than "Cheaters"..I was SO into that book! Someone told me that Dickey's Characters resurface too....I know I must be out of order already having read "Cheaters"...but what is the correct order anyway???
