tired?

how many of you get tired of other sororities or fraternities trying to create trouble for your chapter? we have chapters on our campus that likes to put blame on other chapters, and as a result the greek council has to get involved. also, are you guys tired of other chapters at your school doing "dirty rushing"? how is greek life suppose to grow with this happening. the other day, a group of fraternities and sororities surrouned poor little incomming freshmans during orientation with their letters on. that was not fair to other chapters when there was suppose to be only 2 representatives at the activities table, plus they were suppose to be neutral anyways. lastly, how about those that like to brag about everything, winning greek week, awards, and thinking they are the best at everything when greek life is suppose to be more than just competition.

I feel ya Texas AGD! We had a girl from a certain sorority on-campus who decided that she did not like what our multicultural sorority stood for and she went to the PHC advisor to see if she could get our info. (as to why we are multicultural) changed. I was like WTF? Ok we aren't even a part of PHC. She was trying to tell me that we were wrong for bringing a multicultural on-campus when their org. had actively tried to recruit minorities, but they were unsuccessful. That is not my problem.

It was awful when we first started our colony. Members of other fraternities would actually drive potential NM's to our house and then even come in (not wearing letters) banking on the fact that we'd have no idea who they were.

We actually caught someone parked in front of our house and several other houses with another fraternity's letters on their car. That chapter was fined and put on probation ($150 fine)...

It seams folks on our campus try to do anything to bend the rules and even break them without getting caught.

Example: We're not supposed to have Summer recruitment events.... So what do we do? We have summer brotherhood events where there are non members present... hmmm...

Nope it's not supposed to be what we're all about. But we're Americans.. Competition runs in our blood. We all want to do the best and backstabbing is an option for most.

I get fed up with freshman dorm house mothers who tell the freshmen women to join such-and-such sorority because "they're such nice girls." Rarr!
