I have to admit, though I am a religious person, I also believe I have a healthy dose of skepticism. I am about the LAST person to actually believe in magic (although I like /imagining/ it) or crystal power, etc. However, I have seen a thing or two that made me wonder...
My best friend was in a massive car crash just after we graduated from high school. She had serious head trauma as well as broken bones and internal injuries that required fairly extensive surgery. She was in the ICU for about 2 months. Her mother was very into crystal therapy/alternative medicine, although she very much supported traditional medicine as well. My friend had a cranial shunt (a tube going into her skull that would help get readings on stuff like intercranial pressure (a very important measurement because of the brain trauma).
Her mother brought in some sort of crystal/aura expert to "cleanse" my friend's "aura." Ok, fine, whatever will make the mom feel better is good, right? Well I was in the room when the woman did her "cleansing." And for whatever reason, her blood pressure, heart rate, and intercranial pressure all settled to improved levels (this was about five years ago, so I can't give actual numbers). My friend had an aura cleansing once every week or so and every time we saw a real change in her vital signs.
I have never been a big fan of the concept of faith healing or crystal power. But whatever this aura cleansing person did, it really seemed to work, and I think there may be some validity to it.. maybe just the power of belief, I'm not sure.
