The BAP Handbook
On pg 83, the glamouros life of The BAP Handbook:
"To pledge or not pledge ... as far as sororities are concerned,
is the BAP's ultimate question. What isn't in question is which
sorority the BAP will pledge. Zeta Phi Beta ... no! Sigma Gamma Rho
.... why? The BAP knows that her platinum BAPcard is only valid in
Alpha Kappa Alpha or Delta Sigma Theta sororities. (Okay, a few somehow
managed to slip through the cracks when the joined the "Other two, " but they
are forgiven.)
I dug up the following information:
Kalyn Johnson, Tracey Lewis, Karla Lightfoot, and Ginger Wilson
c/o Broadway Publicity
1540 Broadway
New York, NY 10036
E-mail addresses:
Kaylyn Johnson (Editor): kalyn@thebaphandbook.com
Tracy Lewis: tracy@thebaphandbook.com
Karla Lightfoot: karla@thebaphandbook.com
Ginger Wilson: ginger@thebaphandbook.com
We shouldn't let people publicly slander our organizations. You might want to pass it along to a few more Zetas and Sigma Gamma Rhos as well.

I understand your concern, but
I'm quite honored that these BAPs are not interested in my organizations.
I think it means we are doing something right when, self-centered, spoiled, and cookie-cutter little girls feel they can't fit into an organization such as ours and with Finerwomen like us.
I think the other organizations should be offended. They should feel "slandered" that girls like this feel that they could only be a part of those organizations.

Such an intelligent answer worthy of a finer woman. I just had to smile and say, "Preach, Preacher!!!" Who wants to be Bougie And Pretentious or a Broke A$$ Perpetrator? Not me.

The Authors of this "book" were in Atlanta for a book signing, and only three came because one had to work. Hmm, I thought "princesses" had a life of leisure. Guess not? Guess she has to work like everyone else. I looked on their "site" if that is what you want to call it, and it is funny that they are all in the mid to late 30s with no man. Now, tell me this, if they are so proper and prestine, why dont they have a 1 carat diamond on their hand as they say no princess would except no less than 1 carat. Its because they are little girls playing dress up, and it aint working.
You can put make-up on a dog, and it is what is it is...still a dog.

I see that I am in the minority on this one, but I thought the book was half way cute.
I'm not a BAP.
I'm selective, but not spoiled. Sort of like a Black JAP.

Well, I for one do not think that their book is at all cute. Please God, let them have a book signing in Houston. It is one thing to suggest that people join your sorority, but it is another to discourage them from joining others. I am offended.

No, I was being facetious. The description of selective, not spoiled sounded more like me than the other 4 BAP characters, that's why I used it.

i have to admit when i first read that passage i was THOROUGHLY upset. i'm a neo and i guess i'm extra sensitive when i hear the slightest of anything that remotely resembles an insult. but then thought about it for a while. i didn't even know what Zeta Phi Beta was until i got into college. i didn't join because of a name or an image. i joined because they were the only org. on my yard that actually DID anything. See, Zeta doesn't need all that frivolous pomp and circumstance. and Zeta definately doesn't need an endorsement from these poor excuses for authors (if you read the book you'll see i'm not saying that out of spite). all Zeta needs is more quality members like the ones that attracted me to Zeta

Soror: when this book came out, there was a HUGE protest from Zetas and SGRhos about this comment. I believe they apologized on their website, but it may have been removed.
I didn't take the book that seriously, anyway, although the nonBAP names had me cracking up.. Female (Fem a lay), Orangejello and Lemonjello (twins) ..that was the only laugh I got out of it

I don't really like books like BAP so I would never read it or anything similar. However after reading that passage I was a bit offended but had to remind myself of where it was coming from.
Are they members of the AKA or DST? And what is their email address.

Goodness Gracious!
Ladies, Ladies!
Let's not let the ignorant ramblings of obviously demented airheads get us all worked up! I whole-heartedly agree with Divine Zeta anyone who defines themselves as a "BAP" isn't worthy to wear royal blue anyway!
Stay Bluetiful!
