I'm not suprised all of this has been happening. It was really a matter of time before they[priests] got caught on a national level. This stuff has been going on for years and no one said anything for fear of retribution by the Catholic church.
I am not Catholic but was raised in the United Methodist church. After doing some of my own research, I left the UMC, because of some basic principles that they believe and I don't. Like msbrowneyz, I also am not a proponent of organized religion.
I feel it's not necassary to go to church to show off your recent car purchase or fashion accessory (don't act like it doesn't happen out there)

or show up to service only on X-mas or Easter, and finally, come to the church just because of who the members are...ie doctors, lawyers, judges, etc...
I'm not trying to hate on the church (no hater-aid for me thank you) but for some reason, organized religion just can't seem to get it together.
The sad thing about all of these happenings is that the children are the ones who lose out in the long run.
