Question Latina Sororities

Our town has gone from about 4 Hispanics in 1990 to about 14,000 this year. They include many professional women from about 8 countries. These women have accomplished many remarkable things here but I was thinking how much more they could do if they were united under 1 umbrella...can someone tell me if the Latina sororities ever establish graduate chapters?

I went to Sigma Lambda Gamma's website and they didn't mention anything about alumnae involvement.

Lightbulb Graduate/Professional Chapters

Carnation, it depends on the organization.

Some LGL sororities have Alumnae Associations where the sole purpose is for undergraduate members to continue to be active after graduation. However, membership is not offered at this level.

Then, you have other LGL sororities that have Graduate/Professional Chapters (not always called GPC) where in addition to college initiated members continuing to be active after graduation, they also accept membership applications from women in graduate school or out in the work force. The application and membership requirements may/may not be different from the undergraduate process. It varies from org to org.

SLU has several Graduate/Professional chapters from California to NYC that are open for membership to Graduate and Professional women. That info can be accessed at our website.

This may help you some. Here's a directory of LGL sororities (and fraternities): http://www.latinogreeks.com/director...tinogreeks.htm You will be able to link to each orgs National Website (or a chapter website) where you can find out more information about membership at the graduate level.

PM me if you have any q's.

Let me know how things work out.
