Aaaagh! My Badge has Gone Missing
I looked in the box where I keep my Badge and it's gone and I am really upset I tried to think back to the last time I wore it and it was at an alumnae chapter brunch at a country club. I changed out of pin attire in the ladies room afterward (so I'd be comfy for a long drive home) and I think I may have left my badge on the counter. It's probably been sold on eBay by now - ugh!
Trying to look on the bright side, I can get a new one and I can now afford the 10K gold with a real diamond and the pearl chapter guard. But what I really want is the goldklad badge with the cz and plain guard I've been wearing since 1986. I am beyond sad...
Have any of you lost possession of your original Badge for whatever reason? What happened? Did you end up replacing it? Maybe I won't feel so rotten if I know this happened to someone else.

Lost pin
I lost my grandmother's Mother's Pin two weeks ago. It fell off my sweater after church.
So sad....

I'm sorry KillarneyRose. I also think that you should call the country club and the alumnae chapter. I hope that you find it. One of my chapter sister lost her pin which had been an initiation gift from her aunt who was also a sister. Luckily, it was found a few days later.

Thanks, ladies I already tried calling the country club but no one turned in a badge. Oh well, I guess its time to move on and order the new one since Founders Day is in a month.

My pin was missing! I swore I'd never find it and like you KR I still wanted the pin that I received on initiation day. I went to see Greek Sing and that was the last I remembered it, I knew I put it in my camera case (the brand new camera I had gotten 3 months earlier) which was also missing.....
A year later, my chapter found my camera and pin in the rush closet. I mentioned it when I was up there and one of the sisters remembered and called me to ask if it was mine. So my story is a happy ending.
Good luck to you on finding your pin. I seriously cried the day I thought that it was lost.
What's the saint of lost things....I'm not even Catholic but one of my sisters told me about it when I was a NM.

That's Saint Anthony. He is the man. He's helped me out quite a few times, and I'm not Catholic either.

These may sound like really dumb questions, but, for example, have you checked your "pin attire" outfit up and down? I know I am CONSTANTLY hanging up my dresses after chapter with my badge still on there. Has said pin attire been to the dry cleaners? Maybe it came off there and they have it. What about the pockets of both outfits? Your purse? Your glove compartment? I know you think you left it on the counter, but maybe you did pick it up there, and then misplaced it later. It'd be a shame to order a brand new badge, shell out the $$, and THEN find the old one

I lost my badge earlier this year and cried my eyes out. Luckily our past secretary told me about an extra badge we had bc some sister never picked it up after it came in the mail. Then in a very sweet measure, my parents bought me a new badge with the chapter guard and my officer dangle for graduation. So sweet.
I almost lost my pledge pin thanks to an airline that damaged my luggage once. And I cannot tell you how many times I have washed my badge while it was on my white dress or badge attire clothes. grr

I lost my badge once, then I found it in a classroom like a week later. It has my initals on it, so I knew it was mine. So, I know the pain and franticness (?) of losing your badge.
I can't miss the chance to upgrade to a blinged-out badge, however. I've considered upgrading to a pearl chapter guard, but still holding out.

This is what I did! I borrowed a fancy blouse at the end of the season from my mama, and left the pin on it accidentally. Not quite a year later, she put the blouse on and discovered it.
Now I carry my pin box right in my pocket when I wear my pin! It's a special, almost flat one that our IO sells, so it doesn't show bulky or lumpy.
KR, I really hope you find your initiation badge - AND can get your new one! You do have legacies to think about, after all...!

one of my sisters borrowed my badge to give to her lil until she got her badge; well, the girl who had it, leah, thought that she lost it; she thought that she had put it in her pants pocket and then washed the pants and then couldn't find the badge; but at our first recruitment meeting this semester, leah told me that she found my badge and she had it with her; how lucky for me! i was ready to order a new one from nationals

I had lost my pledge pin going to class one day. A few days later I found it between the doors of the entrance of the classroom building.
In another matter, both of my parents’ badges were stolen a few days after my mother died. Nothing has been recovered from that break-in five years ago. Now I have a son and would have loved to have my son join his grandfather’s fraternity and have his badge. My husband is not a member of any fraternity.
