Legacy - interesting!
Okay, so if I were a guy I would be a Chi Phi legacy... well I just found out that I am another legacy.....
I was talking to my father about the country club my grandfather was a member of, and where I basically grew up and I expressed my wish to join, and he said that they have to concider me cos Im a legacy...
A legacy of Oakmont Country club...
You think they got this from us?
What other things have legacies?
just questioning!

Ali,
I got a letter from Shady Side Academy inviting me to apply for my daughters to enter the lower school. The letter mentioned their being legacies because my sister went to the upper school there. Maybe it's a 'burg thang??
PS We live in Maryland; that'd sure be some commute!

When our oldest daughter applied to Ohio University there was a legacy question on the application.
My wife and I both graduated from there.
Didn't help with the out-of-state tuition, though.

University of Florida has a legacy question on their application as well. It actually states, "Has a member of your immediate family attending UF?"

ZTA,
Pretty much the same question, except on the Ohio app. it was actually subtitled, "Legacy Information." Then the question.

When I applied to Sacred Hearts Academy in 1993, of course there was a part in the application asking "Have any of your relatives graduated from the Academy?". My list was extensive-- great-grandma, grandma, 6 aunts, and about 20 cousins...all on my father's side of the family. My legacy tree (minus my late great-grandma) was a big hit at last year's Alumnae Luau. They included a picture of all of us in the last Alumnae magazine.
Hopefully I'll be making enough money in the future so I can send my future daughters to my Alma Mater.
