How do ya'll do things?
Okay, if I am bugging ya'll with too many questions, you can just tell me (heehee), but I was just thinking about something. Anytime there's a group of us around, an exec member, usually the pres., starts this cheer (D D D Delta, Z Z Z Zeta, Delta Zeta,Delta Zeta, DZ all the way!) I think that all chapters do it because at Region Weekend everyone knew it, but I was wondering what everyone did differently. After we say DZ all the way, we add "I was DZ born, I was DZ bred, and when I die I'll be DZ dead" before all the last part. I noticed that we were the only one's that did that. I was wondering if ya'll did it and what was different in everyone's chapter.

We have a similar cheer. It goes:
Rah rah for Dee Zee,
Rah rah for Dee Zee
Rah rah for Dear Old Delta Zee
I've been East
And I've been West
And now I know that I found the BEST!
So rah rah for Dee Zee
Rah rah for Dee Zee
Rah rah for Dear Old Delta Zee
Dee Zee born
And Dee Zee bred
And when I die
I'll be Dee Zee dead
So rah rah for Dee Zee
Rah rah for Dee Zee
Rah rah for Dear Old Delta Zee!

Hey Purpleturtle! We do the same exact same cheer with the "I'm DZ born, I'm DZ bred and when I die I'm DZ dead" at the end! After that, do ya'll do the thing where you all put your hands together in a circle and say "aaaaahhh Delta, aaaaahhh Zeta, aaaahhh Delta Zeta HEY!!!" ? We do that. Maybe its a Texas thing?

THat's exactly the same cheer!!! Anyways, I thought everyone did it the same, but at Regional Weekend, Everything was the same untill the part where we put the "DZ born...." part in. THen all hell broke loose because not everyone did it, or some people did it but changed it a little. I love that cheer, especially at a football game or some other crowded place, we get a lot of attention I just hate the randomness of it, you have to sprint to make it, b/c the Pres, or Exec always calls it when everyones as far away as possible!

Yeah, We were taught that on Bid Day, so we now we have a million pictures of us with a D and a backwards Z. Most of us still can't do it right. THe funny thing is that my two 4 year old neices came with my parents to family weekend, and I thought it would be cute to take a picture of them with my DZ fam, because my mom had "Future DZ" shirts made, and after about three minutes they had it down, and Kelsey even told my grand-big that she was doing it wrong. So know I also have a picture of my neices doing DZ, and half of my family doing it backward.

Here is something we used to do in my chapter......I don't know exactly how to phrase this, but do any of your chapters teach the pledges to make DZ with their fingers? Like the Delta is thumbs and forefingers touching to make a triangle and the Zeta is thumbs diagonally touching and index fingers extended?
LOL, well if you all do that you'll know what I mean but if you don't do it you'll be like "hey, get this senile old broad off our boards!!!"

I am another TX DZ and we do the same cheer y'all are talking about. And we do the "Hey Hey Hey Hey you know it, DZ is the best" cheer too. But mostly we do the D D D Delta one. We have a LOT of original songs too that girls from our chapter have made up, so if you want to know some, just ask anyone from Delta Theta at the next Region Weekend.
Hey...and don't forget to "Ride Sally, ride!"

We do D D D Delta, but not with the last part. I've never heard that done! We've been trying to come up with some new cheers, since the main ones we use are the one I mentioned and another one especially for our chapter that goes "UK Alpha Theta, Give 'em hell, Delta Zeta! We're the best, can't you see? Give 'em hell, Delta Zee!" I like it a lot.

We use the hand motions for the "Dee Zee, Delta Z" song that we sing for Iced Tea parties during Rush. Also, you can nearly always catch someone making the DZ handsign in formal and social pictures.
