What do you think?
My husband is a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha. Tomorrow, April 26th, is Lambda Chi's formal.
Problem: my husband has to work this weekend but four of his brothers told me that I should come stag. I'm really good friends with most of them and half of them are dating/engaged to my sorority sisters.
I think I would be weird walking into a formal alone especially if it wasn't mine.
What do you guys think?

I don't see a prob if you are that close to them and your hubby is OK with it. It also depends on how you behave as how its perceived. If you get sloppy drunk and dirty dance with one guy after the next that might raise an eyebrow, if you stay low key and strictly sisterly then thats another.

could you tag along with another couple so you don't have to walk in by yourself?

If I went I would probably plan on doing a little drinking but most of these guys have been me and my husbands drinking buddies in the past...some still are.
If I stayed low-key they would think that something was wrong with me. I'm not saying that I'm loud and obnoxious but I always make it a point to talk to everyone and meet all of the new guys. I've been around these guys for years. My husband and I are pretty close friends with each others friends so a lot of stuff we do is pretty much considered harmless. We went to a brothers wedding last month and my husband thought it was funny that the guys made a "sandwich" out of me on the dance floor. Guys are crazy...
My behavior doesn't bother me. I'm not a sloppy, fall down drunk who cheats on my husband. I was just wondering if it would seem weird that a brothers wife showed up to his formal without him.
Thanks

LeslieAGD:
Probably 1/2 of my sorority sisters and a few of my close friends are dating/engaged to these guys. They want me to come too and I'm sure they'd let me tag along but I don't really want to feel like a 5th wheel.
My husband said I should go with one of the freshmen. How funny would that be with an 18 year old walking in with a 26 year old on his arm? They already tease me about robbing the craddle because my hubby is 2 years younger than me. It would be kind of funny though...

AOX, being that you're so close to these guys (and many of your sisters will be there) you don't really have to be the fifth wheel...you can cut loose once you get there...you just wouldn't have to walk in alone.
They obviously want you to come, I think the question is really whether or not you feel comfortable going alone and we can't make that decision for you. Could your husband join you later in the evening? If you do decide to go, have fun!

No, he wouldn't be able to join us later because we live in Ohio and both of us went to school in Michigan (where I'm from) which is three hours away. Plus he has to work at the butt crack of dawn on Saturday.
I would have no problem keeping myself entertained throughout the night but think about it this way. If one of your sisters couldn't make it to your sorority formal would it be weird if her significant other showed up without her?

My initial impression: weird.
But it sounds like you're pretty good friends with those guys. As long as you and your hubby are cool with it, then go shake your booty and have a great time.

Well I just wanted to let you guys know that White Rose was tons of fun!! I spent most of the evening with my friends as my husband was getting himself trashed with one of his buddies in the hotel bar. Afterwards we went back to the fraternity house and stayed up until about 5:30am doing a little bit of drinking of my own while my husband was found passed out in the bathroom After we told him to get up out of the bathroom he walked out into the hall and passed out again on the benches under the telephones. It was pretty funny...
