I'm an alumna!
I am one of 12 new alumnae of the Theta Phi chapter of Sigma Kappa! Today was sooooooooooo emotional but absolutely gorgeous, and I am so excited to enter a new phase of my commitment to Sigma Kappa. I'm already looking forward to being involved with recruitment from another side!
I know I can't be the only one, and I know I already asked who was having their last meetings and so on... let's hear from some other new alumnae!
Love,
Lauren

I am kind of alum since I am student teaching, so I have already had my last meeting and everything, but I will officially be alum at graduation in a few weeks!!! It is sad to leave collegiate membership, but also happy in that it is another stage of life as a Delta Zeta

AEPhi does have a special "becoming an alumna" ceremony (which only alums may attend), but no special pin. I'm curious too, as to what other GLOs do...

Congrats, Lauren... and welcome to the rest of your life!
Gamma Phi has a senior-alum ceremony, but no special pin for alumnae. There is a 50-year pin.
I have really enjoyed being involved with my sorority as an alumna. It gives a whole new perspective on things.

I became an alum last night. It was so emotional. We all gave our senior wills (things that we pass down to the chapter) then a ceremony and then we all stood in a circle and our dots (lil sis) read us letters. Well the letters were not only from the chapter but they also had contacted our real parents and had them send us letters. I have become really close to my mom and dad since I left for college but to hear the things that they keep in their heart said out loud was extremely emotional.

My last meeting was tonight
Theta Upsilons, chapter of AGD, last charter members had our last meeting tonight. I was very award of ritual but know that I will be apart of ritual at other events. We have a senior send off with the whole chapter, this is where we read our wills and do all that other stuff. Then we have a private alumnae only ceremony on Sunday.
We don't have a special pin but we are allowed to now where our pins on our lapels and we have special jewerly that we can buy that allow us to wear our badges as a necklace or ring.
I look forward to all the future has to hold for me and new challenges that will come my way.

When I went alum, the remaining sisters made purple and gold pins for us. It was a really emotional time because half of my chapter were seniors.

MANY CONGRATS to one and all!
Now the works continues!
Work to keep the chapter alive and enjoy being with the people you love the most!
Never foget the happy times you had and look for the happy times you will have!
When you go back and not seen a Brother or a Sister for a long time, I defie you to not shed some tears!
I have done it many times! I am not ashamed at all! It is well worth it!

Come to think of it...yes, we do have a ceremony. We do it at region weekend. All the "seniors" go up to the front some stuff is said and done and then we get these cute turtle pendants on pink or green ribbon. I don't think that the turtles have anything to do with the ceremony other than our region just thinks they are cute...

We do have a senior to alumnae ritual, which is really beautiful. We also have an alumnae pin which isn't mandatory to give out at this ritual, but many chapters do it. The pin is a purple heart with gold D Phi E letters in the middle and a gold border. It's cute.

It is so weird to think that as of yesterday, I am no longer a collegiate member of Sigma Kappa. Order of the Triangle was such a beautiful ceremony, and I am happy to be entering the third phase of my commitment to Sigma Kappa, alumna life.

Congratulations!
It's great to hear the excitement in all the new alums posts.
Alumnae life can be very rewarding. Your chapters will all be so thankful to have new alums that are looking forward to this part of their greek life.

Congratulations to you new alums! Welcome to another stage of sorority life!
Pi Phi doesn't have a special alum pin and I can't remember a ceremony--just a big party--although we do have 25-year and 50-year pins.
