Beta Psi Chapter

The Greek Awards were given out yesterday.

The Beta Psi chapter (of which I'm a member) won most outstanding chapter (on campus), best philantropy, and one brother was given the title of most outstanding greek on campus.

We took everyone by surprise.

Congratulations...I kinda wish that UNL gave out awards like that, but I don't think they do. Our Greek week is pretty non-eventful, which I think means I'm missing out on a lot.

I hope this gets the attention of nationals and our alumni, and shows them that we are worth a damn. Hopefully we can get some help coming in from them...

Hey buddy, congrats on your accomplishments. Don't give up on the General Fraternity and your Alumni. They may not be around all that much now, but its never too late to try to start that trend again. If you start it now, then when you are an alumni, it will be better....and then 10 years from then, it will be even better....and then at that time its normal to be giving back to the chapter. Sooner or later, it'll have to start and hopefully you can be the trendsetter!

I've been charged with getting a newsletter together to send out to all of our alum. I'm getting some ideas, and hope to make it a regular thing.

My father was a member of Beta Psi Chapter (1934-38) and remained a proud and loyal Beta until his death. I still cherish his copy of the B-Psi newsletter from 1938 - his senior year - with the chapter group photo on the cover. The Betas at West Virgina must rank as one of the all-time leaders at WVU. From your letter, it sounds as if the Chapter is returning to its former glory. I offer you all my best wishes for your success.
My mother, aunt and cousin are all alumni of Alpha Xi Delta at WVU. Four uncles were Pikes at WVU; three of them played basketball for the Mountaineers in the 1930s.
