What do you do with one of your best Frends who want to kill themselves with a 45 Cal weapon!

I just spent the last 5 Hrs. trying to talk him out of it!

While we are Both ex cops, It does get to you!!!!

Have you ever had a weapon pointed at you? Do you know how big the barrell is? I have thiught of biting the bullet! But NO!!!!

He was off the deep and I said go ahead kill me and then what.
Ever had a weapon pointed at you? Aint fun!

Well I am still hear and He is still alive for now!

Thank goodness I have pepople that think of ME!

Tom....your situation with your friend is probably not over. As a cop I am sure you know this, but people who get that serious about suicide usually don't stop (unless they get professional help) until they succeed. I have been exposed to a lot of suicide in my life unfortunately. My grandfather for one tried for two years to kill himself. Every effort was thwarted. First he was trying to gas himself in his car with hose. They ended up taking his car away. Then he kept trying to get a gun and he got caught every time. Then he resorted to pinning a note to his shirt and wandering out into a busy street, trying to get hit by a car. Finally he hanged himself over his bathroom door in his own apartment (a last resort as he was trying to avoid my grandmother being the one to have to find him.) My grandma called my dad first and dad had to cut him down.....something that haunts him to this day and he wasn't even close to his dad. PLEASE follow up and see that your friend gets help....he WILL try again.

THERAPY, THERAPY, THERAPY. It sounds as if your friend may need some very serious therapy. He needs to take some kind of hiatus from work or something because he's starting to show MAJOR signs of clinical depression. He's talking about killing himself and others---DEFINITELY enough reason for ANY qualified mental health professional to TDO (place him in a psychiatric ward for observation and assessment) him. Do your friend a favor and help him some help. What you went through (and him too) should not be glossed over or minimized. I'm giving this advice, Tom, because I AM a qualified mental health professional and this is my PROFESSIONAL opinion.

Well, DD came in the store and looked rather sheepish! Said I kind of got stupid huh!

My answer was yep dumb ass!

What you do not realize, is he was a motor cycle copp and I always accuss him of falling of the damn thing to many times!!!!

Well he and I are back to the square one part of life again! Thank GOD!!!!!!! And Allah!!!!! Just to cover my butt!

Threatening to kill oneself is a big deal. So is pointing a weapon at a friend who is trying to help you.

Hell, it cant be that big a deal! If you know cops, then you may understqand! Most people dont! I have had the hammer back a couple of times! I then think oh what the hell does that accomplish!

Answer nothing! So get up the next morning and go to work!

Would not give the ex wife or girl freind the satisfaction!

Hell know, cops arent right when you have seen what we have seen! Thank God i never had to deal with a floater!

you think everyday when you go out that it will be better!

i was told in the Acadamy, think the worst and hope for the best! You will see the bad and the good that the bad did to!
