Thumbs down Help in Indy!!!

Okay,I'm actually kind of desperate and need any help that I can get (even just prayers!). I just found out last night after getting back from work (after 10:30pm) that I have to be out of where I'm currently staying by Friday, June 7 (found this out late on June 2). Needless to say, I really can't afford the rent in Indy on my own and am searching for a roommate. Does anyone know ANYONE that is looking for a roommate in the Indy area?! I'd even be willing to drive from Lafayette, Kokomo, Muncie, etc. . .

Thanks!!

Alpha Love,

Sarah

Good luck, Sarah!

Sarah, I don't know of anyone but I can get you a name of a sister in the Indianapolis Alumnae chapter if that helps. LMK.

Actually, things have worked out today (for the better or worse I'm not sure yet. . . ) Anyway, I was talking to some people at church after Mass and one couple said that I could stay at there house and house-sit for the next two weeks. . and stay longer if necessary while looking for a place or roommate, etc. There may also be someone else at church who is looking for a roommate. Things are working out - I just didn't need the Soap Opera of a life right now

Roses!

Sarah,

Just repeat and remember whenever the soap opera pops up:

Whatever doesn't kill you just makes you stronger!

It's good news about having a temp place to house sit, even if it's just a couple of weeks. You're gonna make it just fine :-)

Christin

Talking Update

I just wanted to give you all a brief update. I ended up housesitting for friends from church and am currently staying with another friend from work. Unfortunately, as of June 30 I am out of housing (and can't afford housing in Indy on what I'm making at Borders but have not been able to find another, better paying job - or even another part-time job that would pay enough and work around my goofy Borders schedule!).

What's going on is that I'm moving back to my hometown. Not only is the cost of living MUCH less, but there are some really good jobs there - that I have interviews for on Thursday and Friday of this week! I will also be near my entire family which is a definite added bonus!

Keep me in your prayers with regards to the jobs - especially since I gave my 2 weeks notice to Borders because of not having anywhere to live!

Alpha Love,

Sarah

Sarah,

Just got back from vacation and saw your update, I've been thinking of you lately. How did the interviews go? Hope things are getting better for you!

The e-mail I sent out as an update :)

just wanted to send you all an e-mail and give you an update. For those that don't know, I was told to leave the place I was living about 1 month ago (with 4 days notice!). I have been living off the generosity of others for the past number of weeks while either trying to find a place here that I could afford or another job. Needless to say, Borders affordable housing is not available here in Indy without a roommate or two and I was not able to find that either. So I started checking in my hometown. I had a few interviews the past few weeks in Rapids. I was up there the past two days for originally one interview and a shadowing. It turned out to be two interviews, a shadowing, and a job offer!! Thursday afternoon I was running around to look for other job openings and decided to stop by the Girl Scout office to update my address and such with them. I was chatting with a couple of the staff members about volunteering and asked, out of curiosity if there were any open staff positions. There was!!! I had a brief interview right then (as well as finding out about the position) and did a full interview on Friday morning after an interview with another company. I got a call offering me the job about 2 hours after the interview!! I accepted the position of Membership Specialist for Woodland Girl Scout Council and start on July 8. I'm staying with my parents for a while until we see which of my grandmothers' houses would be cheapest, etc. A good job, great benefits (only working 8-4 Monday thru Friday!!), near my family, etc. Couldn’t really ask for much more

Anyway, I’m excited and can't wait to start. Like I had said, just wanted to give an update.

Sarah
