1st Set of Letters
Hey-
I just picked up my first set of letters and I can't wait for the sun to go down so I can wear them (it's kinda hot right now). My big bro is studying abroad right now, so I didn't get letters at initiation. I ordered them 2 weeks ago and had to wait extra long because they ran out of the print I wanted. Anyway, I'm stoked!!

On that note, what did everyone first set of letters look like? Mine were plaid letters with a burgandy outline on a cream t-shirt.

Mine were the red pledge T-Shirt with white screen print letters, oh so attractive.
My first sewn on were a red sweatshirt with gray on white letters (aka the "Phi Sigma Kappa groupie" sweatshirts).

My big sister gave me my first set of letter at initiation. It was our chapter standard at the time, grey sweatshirt with purple and white letters. I think the first that I ever bought were pink on blue letters on a white tank. I gave the same tank style to my little when she was initiated.

My first sweatshirt is now about 8 years old......and I still wear it. (Its not the prettiest thing, but its worth a million bucks to me) It is a gray sweatshirt with the basic blue and green plaid style letters. I promised myself when I was initiated that I'd be buried in that sweatshirt, and when I write my Will, that will be in there.

My local had a tradition of giving identical lettered T-shirts to each pledge class when they were initiated. Our colors were green and purple, so my pledge class's shirts were green letters, white background, on purple shirts - the previous pledge class (the founders) had purple letters, white background, on green shirts.
My first AEPhi letters... I'd had a black sweatshirt made up with my local's letters. When we affiliated with AEPhi, I took the sweatshirt back to the store and asked them if they could change the letters, and they did! Floral print, white background. They were actually ready before our initiation, so I was able to wear them immediately afterwards.
josh8o, wear your new letters with pride!

My chapter does something very much like aephi's local did. Each class get its own special pattern. All of the tshirts are white but then the new member educator will go out and pick out a print for the shirts right before activation. My first letters were a yellow, blue, and green sort of plaid on a blue background sewn on the white tshirt.
Congrats Josh on receiving your first pair of letters. It's really an awesome experience!!!!!

After my class was initiated, we got our class letters which are a dark blue shirt with light blue letters and silver border. Then on top of that my Diamond Sis gave me 5 more sets of letters one for everyday of the week.
They were:
1. Leopard Print with my name and her name embroidered on it and it said Diamond Sis 4 Life
2. A black sweatshirt with purple letters and my name embroidered on the sleeve
3. Zebra Print letters with my name embroidered on it
4. Letters with a star print because I'm in the star family =)
and
5. UNLV's school colors. A Black shirt with dark red letters and a grayish silverish background with black stitching and UNLV embroidered under the II and my name over the A
I wear them all the time, since then I've gotten more letters, but these 5 shirts especially are my fave!

My first letters came on Bid Day August 22, 1998! When I walked through the door the sisters all cheered and handed me a Bid Day shirt and goody bag. My shirt was a sherbert yellow/orange color with a firery sun on the back with a logo that read "Everyone Has Their Day In The Sun. Some Just Last Longer Than Others." It is TOTALLY AWESOME (and the sun was wearing sunglasses just like that smiley!
I still have the shirt although I hardly wear it as it's been washed so many times and it's an XLarge and rather LARGE on me! But still a great set of first letters!

My first set of letters was given to me on initiation night by my big sis, they were a white tee-shirt with blue flowed fabric and blue background sewn on. This set of letters has been passed down through four "generations" of my family tree, and I passed them down to my little when she got initiated.

My first set of letters is a black sweatshirt with black, green and red plaid on white. My "family" tradition is getting plaid letters from our big sis! My big sis and I are going after spring break to get matching letters at the Purdue bookstore!

My first set were hand me downs too. As far as I know they could go as far back as the first person in my line (my family is kinda young) they were columbia blue with blue and green plaid and cream background. I gave them to my little and she gave them to her little, who transferred to UofM and will pass them on there!
