Getting carded...
I guess I'm still young enough to be irritated when I get carded...
My husband and I went out for drinks the other night. I got carded, he didn't. He's less than a year older than I am. Now, I can count on one hand the number of times I've been carded since I turned 21, and I'm 26. I didn't even get carded on my 21st...!
(I noticed but decided not to mention to my husband, that this particular place had posted a policy that they card anyone who looks like they're under 40. If I'd mentioned that to him, he'd have ordered an extra 3 or 4 drinks. )
Soooo... informal poll:
- How old are you?
- How often do you get carded? (Bars or nightclubs, where they card everyone at the door as a matter of course, don't count.)
- What's the drinking age where you are, if not 21?

I'm only 22 but I get carded every single time I drink because most people think I look really young. I was even out with my dad for my 22nd birthday and forgot my ID and the waiter wouldn't even believe my dad that I was of age. (I understand the he could get in trouble if he served me, but he gave me attitude like I was lying!)

I am 26 years old and I get carded for everything you can get carded for including R rated movies. There is nothing like going on a date and the ticket girl asking for your ID...the guy looks at you like "oh please at least be 18" and I whip out my drivers license and tell roll my eyes. I must be stuck in some kind of weird reverse aging. I was never carded when i was 18...21, but not its everytime!

I'm 23 and I get carded regularly! We go to this one jazz club quite frequently and they've stopped carding me there (they KNOW I'm old enough by now! ) but I still get carded.
The funny thing is when I go home to Nova Scotia and get carded at the clubs there! The drinking age in most of Canada is only 19....do I look that young?! There are girls in the bars there that look like they're 17 or 18, and yet they card me?! Weird!
On my 19th birthday I went to the liquor store and bought myself a bottle of Absolut (my plan for years.....do a little pre-downtown drinking with my mom) Well, they didn't card me!!!! I was so pissed....I wanted to be carded so I could say I was legal (and that it was my birthday! ) I went home and told my mom.....so we went back to another liquor store for some rum for her....I went in and bought it, so they could card me.....and they didn't again!!!!!!! If only I had've known it was that easy when I was younger! LOL!

I am 24 and still get carded EVERYWHERE. I have to make sure I have my license if I'm in the liquor store with my husband, at concerts, at restaurants and of course bars. I was thoroughly embarrassed at this one place. They ran my license through machines several times, under a light and magnifying glass several times and one of the other bouncers, who happened to be one of my friends, kept telling the guy I was 23. I held up the line for at least 5 minutes while they quizzed me. After all of that, I refused to stay there and give them any of my money. I don't deserve to be treated like that and still patronize a place that I know lets people in under age . I still do that to this day. If someone wants to scrutinize me that much, they don't need my hard earned money

I am 30+ but until a year or 2 ago, I still got carded quite often (especially if I was just popping into the 6 pack shack with no makeup on). Not any more...I guess the ravages of time have finally gotten to me.

I'm 24 and still get carded - apparently I look under 19 (BC's driking age). Funny thing is though if I go to the liquor store during the day if I need to pick things up, dressed in my grubbies and no make-up on I never get carded. Yet when I'm all done up it's id please - what's really annoying is that my baby brother never gets carded and he's 18 and isn't suppossed to be setting foot in a club for another 6 months...

I'm only 20 (turning 21 this June) so I have no stories of getting carded. But here's a somewhat funny story...
One night, my roommate and I and our boyfriends all went out to dinner together. Both of the guys ordered a drink. My boyfriend, who is almost 25 got carded. HER boyfriend, who is 22, did not. And we were at the same table! But, her boyfriend looks like he's at least 35... poor guy...

I am 20 but I am studying abroad in France right now so I never get carded. I keep forgetting that I`m not old enough to drink in my own country yet...

I'm 22 and I hardly ever get carded. If I'd known I looked that old, I'd have tried to buy beer when I was younger.

26 years old
Carded: Here in South Africa, never. Drinking age is 18 and I look 18 I guess.
Back in the states, still does. People say I look 19 clean shaven.

26, and get carded for everything. I feel the pain about rated R movies. One time I had to go all the way back out to the car and get my liscence in order to prove to the 16 year old at the counter that I was over 17. I told him when I got back that I could guarantee I was older than him, boy did he look stupid when he found out I was 24. The cop that was standing there almost died laughing
