Question Obsessed With Greek Life or A GLO?

OK, let me just start off by saying a LOVE my GLO and the greek system, and do not regret a minute of being in it However, I was watching something and it got me thinking about whether a person can be a little obsessed about their GLO, another GLO or Greek LIfe in general. Examples: a "friend" of mine is in XYZ sorority and she talks about it constantly. Like she lives it, breathes it, and will die it. You remember Spike the dog from Looney Toons and his lil friend who wouldnt shut up and Spike would slap the crap out of him? Thats what we feel like doing to her, even though we wouldnt There was also a sorority on campus that people who were greek and even none greeks were like "girls in XYZ are annoying because they live XYZ, it like they dont have a life outside it." I have also seen people become obsessed with other houses besides their own. Does anyone think a person can be a little TOO(obsessed) into their org or another org? After all there is nothing wrong with having spirit, but what do you think and doesn anyone have any stories?

It's fine to love your GLO and perhaps your sig other's GLO, but it's nice having lives outside of them! I would think people like whom you describe would "grow" out of it- it gets old. How well do you know this person? Is she new to the greek scene? what/who triggered your msg?

The girl is a close friend of mine who I have known since HS. I put friend in quotes because we've been distancing and she's changed alot since we went off to college, and most will admitt it hasnt been the best of changes.Theres alot that goes with it. I dont know what really triggered the question, like i said its just something that came to my mind when I was watching something, but something that I have heard alot about before. She joined her house her junior year and we graduated in May. But I know alot of people who know people who've been in all 4 years and are said to be a little too into it. It was just a pondering thought I had in my little head at 11pm and no place to go on a Saturday Night

Well...I do kinda have one story. There is a girl that I know from XYZ sorority. She constantly is ALWAYS @ ABC fraternity day and night...more than the brothers from ABC fraternity go there. She always says how much she loves ABC fraternity, how their "her boys," and how she'll do anything for them. She goes to the extreme sometimes that if I mention anything about them in front of her, she'll go on for hours saying their her boys...how she "LOVES" them...blah blah...etc. It's almost an obsession. Funny thing is, this is why a lot of people are annoyed at her...INCLUDING most of the guys in ABC fraternity. It SUCKS...especially that no one would tell her that people talking behind her back (gotta keep it cool in the greek system)
