The Purpose for Greekchat's Alpha Kappa Alpha Forum

Please give us YOUR commentary as to why the AKA forum @ Greekchat was established? (not why it was NOT...)

is a place where people who have a similar interests/concerns can congregate, laugh, fellowship, and whatever...
the forum is comprised primarily of Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha and Interests of Alpha Kappa Alpha... so I know, speaking in the most general manner, that the women in this forum share some of my social concerns. that matters to me a great deal. plus, it's just plain ol' fun. conversation & human fellowship in a not so standard medium. that's what it's all about

I find the forum a place to discuss a variety of topics from current events to favorite television shows etc. and many times the topis have provided an opportunity to take a "timeout" from my work day.

I'll admit, I found the forum on my "internet quest" for information

It has been an added bonus to meet at least one "cyber-friend"

For me, the forum serves as a way to network, and to "make the net work." I enjoy meeting sorors from all over, and I enjoy even more forming relationships with them. That's why I came in the first place, as a Neo (then) I just wanted a way to meet more Greeks.

Now, the forum has become a place for me to come, hang out, chill, and trip out.

It's kinda like the Black House at Witt.

And I've made some good friends on this site, sorors and non-sorors alike.

I found GC after I became a soror, and I'm happy to have found it. Besides meeting sorors and interests, I like this forum because, for the most part, we have intelligent discussion. There's nothing I love more than educated AA women and a few men, talking about serious and fun things alike.

I wandered onto GC before I became a Soror. As a woman interested in AKA, I found GC to be a great place to share conversation with other women with whom I shared common interests, backgrounds, etc.

Before I became a Soror, I NOT ONCE participated in any thread pertaining to AKA, membership, interest, etc....on purpose....as discretion is key! In fact, I think that some of my GC Sorors were surprised the day I posted that I had become a Soror, since I never once mentioned that I was interested in AKA. To me, that's what discretion is all about...whether you're in cyberspace or on "The Yard".

Oh yeah...GC is also my spot to go to when I'm bored at work...like RIGHT NOW!
