Post Study hours with sororities?

Hi guys, I'm tired of seeing close to 20k of messages in Greek Life and 113 here in Academics, so I'm gonna start my own thread here.

I was thinking of asking some of the sororities on campus if they wanted to do group study hours with us tekes. I mean really, we have study hours, you have study hours...

However, I am partly concerned that it'll become "flirt hours" instead of actually studying, has anyone ever tried this idea before? and if so, what happened?

Study hours

Study hours I think are great for incoming freshmen who don't know how to balance their time between busy greek life and academics...but unfortunately at my U. it's considered hazing if they're made mandatory! So we therefore have optional study tables twice a week before the new member test..and if you're there, it counts as extra credit on the test.

Pairing up for study hours is a great idea. Would make people more willing to actually go to study hours.

Whether or not it works depends entirely on the group of people involved. Some folks are more mature and academically driven than are others. It could work out great, but the only way to find out is to try it! Good luck.

I think it sounds like a great idea. I am going to bring it up to my chapter since people normally aren't huge fans of study hours to begin with

GREAT IDEA!

I think that is a great idea! We are a brand spanking new chapter and are definitely in need of some creative ideas to get people motivated. I will definitely be bringing it up at chapter and submitting the suggestion to our scholarship committee! Let me know of any other cool ideas for mandatory study hours. Thanks!

Heidi G.
