Unhappy Why is it that men hate Valentines Day??

My man HATES Valentines Day. I give him the respect and not mention anything about the day. That does not mean that I do not want anything. Sure, Valentine's Day may have been invented by a MAN who forgot his wife's (girlfriend's/mistress') birthday. But I feel that Valentine's day is the one day a year that love should be shown (Although it is supposed to be 365 or 366 days a yaer 24/7!!) tell me what you think??

Exclamation I don't think men hate it so much as....

They can't stand to remember dates that they have to get gifts. They aren't the best gift givers or gift pickers in the world. They also can't stand the sentimentality of the dang day. Some men don't like to get all mushy gushy on V-Day. The whole idea of mushiness is kinda embarrassing to them. Is this a good depiction of how some men may feel about V-Day???

if i were a guy, i'd hate valentine's day because last week, i could have purchased a dozen of roses for $4, whereas this week, they cost $25. some people were paying $75 for a dozen of roses. it's just another "holiday" that's far too commercialized. tokens and/or expressions of love should be offered all year round, not just february 14th. by the same token, if i were a guy, i'd also better realize that it's not in my best interest to come home empty handed today.

Question

Why do men hate Valentine's Day?
I have been trying to figure this question out for the longest, because it will not kill them (men) to show a little more affection than usual one day out of the year.

To be fair, it's not all men. My husband loves the holiday, but since it's so close to his birthday he tells me I never have to give him a gift. I think I dislike the holiday more than he does!

I TOO AM NOT A BIG VALENTINES DAY FAN. I BELIEVE THAT EVERYDAY SHOULD BE LIKE V-DAY. I DID HELP A CLUELESS MALE CO-WORKER CREATE SOME LOVE COUPONS TODAY. YOU KNOW LIKE FOR FREE BACK RUBS ETC. I TOLD HIM TO BRING HOME SOME CANDY ALSO JUST TO BE SAFE. .

I hope you beautiful ladies of Zeta Phi Beta don't mind a fellow greek putting in some cents in the proverbial pot, but SoTrue1920 you took the words out of my mouth.

I am a romantic (actually that is everyday) and V-Day brings the best out of me. I like scented candles, music, and cuddling (yeah I'm a sap) on V-Day. I also love giving great presents, but I can wait on mine as my birthday is the 25th.

I do agree that V-Day is commercialized and quite costly. The whole flower thing....I mean REALLY !!!

My Man and I celebrate V-Day....but we also celebrate our Love for each other daily. We give each other flowers just because......send e-cards....because it may have been 2:06 in the afternoon.....it doesn't matter.

But don't get me wrong....I enjoyed my dozen white roses

It's supposed to be romantic to get engaged/married on V-Day.....I know that it will be special for that particular couple, but how romantic is it when you turn on the news and see no less than 75 people doing the SAME thing you did?

to each his own
