Mad TV Sketch
Tonight Mad TV had a sketch of a fake sorority in CA... Kappa Kappa Kappa, or KKK for short( but son't worry, there was a token black girl who says "it's the good KKK!" ). It was horrible- blond ditzes who say "We hold the record for highest GPA- and also for highest binge drinking deaths and acquaintance rape!" They hold a carwash to fundraise and hire immigrants to wash the cars while they stand around and bounce in bikini tops and spray water at each other.... for their community service they teach latin to juvenile delinquents ("and Kappa is a latin word TOO!") and sing their song while bouncing up and down in slutty outfits. They end with their phrase, "Study hard... but remember to leave time to PARTY!"
Grrrrrr............ I hate this negative portrayal of Greeks!

That is pretty bad... but at least mad tv is not as popular as SNL.

You forgot to mention the part when they show up on the porch of an elderly black couple wearing KKK shirts and give the guy a heart attack.

The sketch does sound pretty dumb (as is the rest of Mad TV, lol). But you have to remember, in comedies *all* college students are portrayed as drunken slackers. Movies and TV shows don't just make Greeks look bad - they make all college students look bad.

Oh come on, it was mad tv, they're known for those kind of parodies. Where's your sense of humor?
I bet you guys find that Asian lady (Ms. Swan) offensive too....
And what about SNL, who made a whole segment about Delta Delta Delta? A GLO that actually exists.
Anyways, Mad TV is twice as better, SNL is too corny.

Yep, I've got to agree with eightball and RockChalk. They make fun of everyone - no group is left unscathed.

I'd rather see 500 Mad TV and SNL parodies than one more supposedly sincere movie like Dying to Belong....parodies not only parody the thing they are parodying, they parody the stereotype. FWIW, we used to laugh our asses off at the Tri-Delt sketch on SNL, and I'm wagering most other Greeks did too. To quote Jim Morrison...it's "reducing the myth to absurdity, thereby wiping it out."

Yeah, Tri-Kappa exists. I hear it's only here in Indiana, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. (No wonder they go by Tri-Kappa...)

Take it with a grain of salt.. Most humor comes from mocking someone or something. So if your not going to object to anyone else being 'made fun of' how can you be upset when your the one 'being made fun of'....
There are much better things to worry about than a skit....

There's Tri-Kappa but it's a fraternity, not a sorority.

speaking of stupid skits. i was channel flipping today and came across an older delta delta delta skit on SNL. i hate to say it, but it really made me laugh. it was the one where a "hottie" TKE showed up to invite the girls to a mixer where they could "get drunk and party naked all night long". heh heh. sorry again. it did make me laugh. i guess i can laugh because i don't take it as the truth.

33girl- Right on for quoting Jim Morrison TWICE!!! He is the greatest!! BTW, here's a fun fact just for you, id you know that if you switch around the letters of Mr. Mojo Risin, it spells Jim Morrison, and they didn't even do that on purpose!!
