Recruitment Counselors
Have you ever heard of a campus that has recruitment counselors that only advise their PNMs through their first round of parties, and then don't help the PNMs anymore? They must remain unaffiliated until recruitment is over, but their "counseling" ends with the end of round 1.
Please tell me I'm not the only person who thinks this is absolutely fucking ridiculous (excuse my french!)

We don't have recruitment counselors after Preference Round, since apparently there's a chance that they could influence PNMs into joining their sorority even though they're unaffiliated. After first round sounds insane, though. Does anyone else talk to the PNMs? How do they get their schedules?

The Greek Advisor talks to them PNMs, and basically reads them the "rules". There doesn't appear to be any counseling. If a PNM is confused, it's up to them to figure it out. Oh, and if they ISP, nobody tells them the disadvantage of doing so. Which is why 59 of 113 women ISP'd in recruitment last semester, with 22 going bidless.

That should absolutely not be happening, letting PNMs dangle in the wind with no supervision. I would get in touch with the NPC Area Advisor if you haven't done so already. Clemson has ResLife professional staff advising during Preference Round, which is far better than no one.

How many rounds are there? If there are only 2 invitational rounds, then I kind of get it (fear of influencing the girls too much before pref).
But this sounds like a campus unfriendly to Greeks who sees those 22 bidless women as a good thing. (Obvious question: is this a state school?)

My school had recruitment counselors through bid day and NMs would find out their counselor's affiliation at revealing on bid day

Recruitment is 3 rounds, plus a get to know round. Women only have RCs through get to know and round 1. I know NPC says RCs can't be present during MRABA signing, but to have no guidance after round 1 is crazy. After this horrid recruitment, campus raised total by 8 so that these bid less women could COB where they ISP'd. And the GLO called the chapters and asked them to consider now taking these women since she raised total so they could. I am doing a recruitment workshop at this campus next weekend, and I wanted to gauge if The RC thing was as crazy as I think. I already know the total business is wrong and being looked at. Thanks friends!

Ahh, that's a small recruitment. Let's chat. I might have some insight (or at least experience) with this type of situation....

With this sh1t show of a rush, I kind of don't see the point in having rc's at all. I'm guessing there is a chapter or two who really can't spare those bodies. And now things are worse for them because total was unnecessarily raised. I think this campus caught one of those facts of life episodes where Blair is in a sorority and thought it was a documentary.
