Post Any Greeks in Phoenix/SoCal/Las Vegas?

Hey! I am an Alpha Chi Omega from Illinois who has never ventured west of Oklahoma. A friend and I are vacationing in Phoenix for a week this summer. We want to visit Vegas, SoCal and the Grand Canyon. Where are the best places to visit? Any large greek systems in the area? If anyone has any advice about going out West , please let me know.

Rhonda

With only a week it will be hard to visit all those places. It's about 4-5 hours by car from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. It is another 4 (or more) hours on to Vegas. It is 8 hours from Phoenix to LA. It will take more than a week unless you want to spend all your time in the car going from place to place. Remember it is HOT (105-110F) in the southwest in the summer so drink lots of water and wear sunscreen.

There are large Greek systems at the UofA in Tucson (hi shopgirl!) and at ASU in Tempe. There are also greek systems at NAU in Flagstaff and Embry-Riddle Aero. Univ in Prescott.

Hey!
I grew up in Vegas, went to USC, dated someone in Phx for 4 years, and live in LA. ha ha That about covers your territory.

Greek system wise--USC and UCLA have big ones, but are out for summer. (UCLA should be wrapping things up pretty soon if they haven't already. SC's been out for over a month) Houses are pretty though and worth a drive by. USC's Greek Row is on 28th Street between Hoover and Figueroa. UCLA's Sorority Row is on Hilgard and most Fraternities are on Gayley.

As for what to do in LA, that depends on whether you are over 21 or not.

Phoenix is about 385 Miles from Las Vegas. Las Vegas is 285 miles from LA and Pheonix to LA is 405 miles. Speed limit is 70-75 for 95% of the way on all these routes. Route 95 is what you take between Pheonix and Vegas. Route 15 to Route 10 Vegas to LA, and Route 10 all the way, Phx to LA.

If you have the chance, you really ought to come visit the Bay Area . There's nothing like it!!! There are so many towns and cities that are part of the Bay Area, and every town is just soo charming! Or at least come to San Francisco !

Anyway, have fun!

Cool

I am 21, and my friend is 22. If you had to pick between Vegas, SoCal or Grand Canyon for a two-day trip where would you go? Any good beaches or nightlife?

Out of the three...SoCal definitely. Though I am going to Vegas for the first time, soon, I definitely love SoCal as among my most fave vaacation spots. Each summer (except this one), I have lived in L.A. for a month. There's nothing like it!! So much to do...so little time! I think almost everyone would love it there.

Grand Canyon is nice...but IMO, there's nothing to do BUT the Grand Canyon. L.A. has everything to suit everyone's needs!
