I am a member of Phi Sigma Sigma. Our executive council consists of all the committee heads. Currently in my chapter the committees are Philanthropy, Fundraisng, Alumnae, Health Wellness, Diversity/Risk Management, Sisterhood, Social, Public Relations, and Ritual. We meet formally as an executive council every other Sunday to talk about ideas and brainstorm. The ecouncil meetings are run by our Vice President (which is me..... ). I know that committees vary from chapter to chapter due to chapter size and different interests, but the main one's are usually the same.
I too am interested in hearing how other chapters executive councils are made up.

I am new to our executive council, but basically it's made up like this. President, VP Moral, VP Social, VP Mental, Secretary, Treasurer, Rush Chair, Social Chair, House Manager, Risk Management, Panhel, COB Chair, and Risk Management. I think that's about it, but I have a feeling I'm missing someone. However, next term we're changing it where the Risk Management, COB, and House Manager won't be part of Exec.
(Oh, I am VP Social btw.) If anyone has further questions just ask!)

Could everyone tell me what the positions are in their organization?

Okay, guys, I realize Brooklineu has been on these boards a long time, however, you should think twice before volunteering information about your chapter operations. Things like constitutions, bylaws, and standing rules are all confidential documents for members of your organization. Just keep this in mind.

Re: Re: Executive Councils
Be of good cheer Brooklineu, that stuff is not really secret or confidential although I can understand why people might believe so. All your organizations are incorporated non-profit groups which means thta your constitution/by-laws/rules (or CBR), operating procedures, financial status etc are actually public record.
Your Ritual is secret. Also, if you reread your CBR you'll find that there is no explanation of the secret things within your various groups. Or there shouldn't be .
Also, a lot of leadership manuals are pretty much just copies of popular leadership doctrine and some have even been written by third parties. How secret is that?
And, just to kick the dead horse two or three more times (I didn't actually kill the horse so all of my beloved animal rights people here on GC can rest easy ) IF i gave you copies of my operational manuals you might know that we have a position called GMC (Grand Master of Ceremonies) which corresponds to a VP of membership, what he does, but not what his Ritual significance might be.
To sum it all up, Share away, because there have already been posts going into detail about exec boards from way back.

My chapter has President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, New Member Educator (Phi Director), Recruitment Director, Scholarship Director, and Panhellenic Representative. Other committee chairs are not considered members of the executive council, but they are supervised by the VP.

brooklineu: That sounds pretty good to me!
Kappa Delta: President, VP-New Member Education, VP-Membership, VP-Standards, VP-Public Relations, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary, and Panhellenic Representatives
I don't think National Kappa Delta considers this info confidential because it's printed underneath our names composites.

Since my Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter was very small, we had an exec council rather than the standard chapter council, which normally consists of all elected officers and chairs in a chapter. Exec council was Pres, VP-Organization, VP-Standards, Treasurer, and one more that I can't remember (hey it was a while ago ).

Honestly, I have no idea which parts are secret or not secret. All I know is that my National HQ tells me not to give this information to anyone, and to forward all such requests to HQ. Even the Greek Affairs Office gives us surveys, and I am not allowed to fill them out until HQ approves.
If it's all public record, that is fine. Obviously I don't need to volunteer any information then, because it is already available somewhere else.

We're a brand new colony right now, so we're still working out Committee heads and all that, but our basic exec board right now consists of president, VP Operations, VP Sisterhood, Secretary, Treasurer, and National Liason. Our nationals only requires one VP, but we recently decided to make it a two part position. Yeah for me...I'm the new VP Sisterhood!

my local has Pres, Exec VP, VP of memership education, treasurer, asst. treasurer, secretary historial, and sargent at arms (the one that keeps order in meetings). Then we have the Panhellenic senior and junior delegates (I'm the senior). Then we have our committees: Social, Fundraising, Philanthropy, Membership and I think thats it. Panhellenic and committees aren't on exec.
