Common Takes His 'Circus' On Tour
Common has lined-up a 20-city, 21-date winter tour, launching Feb. 26 in Washington, D.C., and wrapping March 23 in Denver. The rapper will bring along some like-minded artists from the neo-soul and hip-hop movements: Talib Kweli, Gang Starr, and Floetry.

To further hype the tour and Common's latest album "Electric Circus," MCA is re-releasing the set Tuesday (Feb. 11) with a bonus DVD. The disc will feature the video for the radio single "Come Close To Me" with Mary J. Blige, as well as footage from the making of the clip and the album's recording sessions. The cut is currently No. 21 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, while "Electric Circus" is at No. 32 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally.

Lablemate Talib Kweli is touring in support of his second solo outing, "Quality." The MCA album is currently at No. 54 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, where it debuted at No. 6 late last year.

Highly respected East Coast rap duo Gang Starr has been relatively quiet since its 1998 Virgin album "Moment of Truth," but the pair has a new single on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally with "Skills," at No. 98. According to Gang Starr's official Web site, the duo's forthcoming album, "The Ownerz," will be released in coming months.

Floetry released its debut album, DreamWorks/Interscope set "Floetic," about four months ago. The set is currently No. 43 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Latest single "Say Yes" enjoyed a 72-58 jump this week on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally.

Ummm...can we get some dates in the south??? The closest stop to me is D.C. and that is far, far away. This tour will be awesome though.

Once again a show that skips my area. I see Floetry is also going to be on the tour. I hope that they do a better job than when I saw them open for Alicia Keys. They can sing but they had NO stage presence.
