GreekGifts Etc. problem
Hey Everyone~
I recently ordered some stuff from Greek Gifts Etc. com, and its been over a month and I haven't recieved my shipment. I contacted them Dec. 5th and they said it would be sent out soon since they had to special order it, and now its Dec. 22nd and nothing. I've tried e-mailing since then with no reply. The website has been down for I think about a week now, and I thought I had a phone number, but I called and got some girls answering machine. Has anyone had any experience with this company? Does anyone know anyway of contacting them, or know anything I don't about what is going on? I had heard about this site through GC, so I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

A Few of my sorors have ordered for them. and they never really had any problems with them. But it might be because of the time frame you ordered in, since it's around the holidays I am sure they are just backed up on orders or something, but I understand your frustration.
I ordered from sterlingsilver.com, back in the beginning of Nov and still have not received my orders. they never even emailed me or called or anything to tell me that they were on back order or that it would be this late.
When I finally talked to them(after emailing them 3 times and calling a few times) they finally emailed me to tell me I would not be getting my order till after Christmas, and hmm I ordered my items to be exact Nov 8, 2001 and here it is December 23, 2001.
So frustration , I feel ya on that one!!!!!

Joe Toga has really good stuff. Actaully got to visit their greek BOUTIQUE/CLOSET (if you've been there you know what I'm talking about). But they were very very friendly and gave us free t-shirts (when about 100 DU's went at once).

The lady that owns Joe Toga, Cathy Neben, is a Phi Mu and she was the advisor to the Houston Baptist University chapter. She is super nice and she helps out the greeks all over Houston whenever she can. I go to her shop whenever I need stuff. It is connected to her salon, Hair Spa, which I also highly recommend. I had a massage there and it was wonderful!

Email them and tell them what you want and they will respond to you. They can do custom stuff, so you should ask about your local. I know they will do letters and stuff for you! They are really flexible and nice.

BootyKBG,
Just wondering if you got your order yet, or have talked to them to find out what the hold up was?
Hopefully, it's all taken care of already!

Thanks for the opportunity to explain
Annie,
I am terribly sorry about your experience with us and that you were unable to get in touch with us to recieve a status update on your lavaliers. (I did give Annie a call a couple of weeks ago to ensure that she had received her lavaliers and she had). We were simply swamped over the month of December and received probably 4 times the number of orders we had projected for this holiday season based on last year's sales. We simply didn't have the staff to cope with business. During that time our toll-free voicemail service went down (it was accepting messages, but we couldn't retrieve them) and our email service mailbox filled up three times, bouncing messages back to senders. We also had faxes to at least three different suppliers turn up missing for Christmas purchases. It was a nightmare to say the least. By no means do I want to come off sounding like I'm offering excuses. There is no way to adequately apolgize for the slow service, I just want you and others to understand the circumstance.
Annie ordered an engraved pendant and some lavaliers for her group. The pendant was shipped within days of her order and the lavaliers ended up having to be special ordered from the manufacturer. Unfortunately it did take a month to get her lavalier shipped to her because her group is not one of the larger NPC sororities which are kept in stock. I called Annie to make sure the lavaliers were eventually received, and they were. And I have refunded 100% of the price paid for the lavaliers to her Visa as our way of apologizing for the delay.
I want everyone out there to know it is very difficult to make it in the greek gift business. Probably many of the stores in your area offer more than just sorority gifts because they can't survive if that's all they sell. We strive to give the highest level of service but since we are human, we do sometimes make mistakes. However, unlike the experience that someone posted about Greek Concepts, we do own up to our mistakes and correct them when the are pointed out. Annie, I hope you understand the situation and accept the free lavaliers with our apologies.
In the meantime we have replaced our toll-free phone number with a new carrier and have taken steps to keep the mailbox from filling up. We are also adding more staff and hope to be able to answer more phone calls live by next Fall.
Thanks for the opportunity to hear our explanation and thanks to all our loyal customers!

MORE - Thanks for the opportunity to explain
I forgot to mention that Annie also asked us to change address of where the package was to be shipped but we never received the message due to our voicemail and email problems. It turns out that UPS attempted delivery 4 times and finally left the package with her former neighbor? Obviously this was not Annie's fault, but contributed to the great delay.
I also wanted to address local sororities and let everyone know that we carry merchandise for all Greek Letter Organizations. While we might carry a greater stock for the large national groups, we do accommodate the smaller groups everyday. While our competitors are eliminating groups from their stock, we are able to offer something for all of them. Of course we are restricted by the groups that the manufacturers offer in some cases (mass produced items such as stationery, frames, cups, etc.) Anything that is custom made can be done for a local group. Unlike many of our competitors we also offer lavaliers/drops for the local groups. If the manufacturer we work with has not yet done a lavalier for a particular group, we only require a minimum initial order of 12 lavaliers and 4-6 weeks for delivery due to the process involved. After the initial order, we allow ordering of just one lavalier with a 10-17 day turnaround.
If anyone ever has any questions just let me know.
Katherine Williams

thank you
Hi everyone,
I just want to let you all know that the previous two replies are exactly as stated, and despite all the problems things worked out in the end. I do not discourage anyone from using this company because of my bad situation, I have heard nothing but good stuff otherwise.
Annie
