Not Another Teen Movie
Just saw this last night & thought it was HILARIOUS (minus 2 scenes - the brown stuff & the smooching) ... it's worth checking out if you like cheezy comedies (esp. on a cheap movie night!) Anyway, my question is - can anyone name all of the movies it parodied ... I lost track & know that I am forgetting some - here's what I have so far ...
American Pie (I & II)
American Beauty
Breakfast Club
Bring It On
Can't Hardly Wait
She's All That
Ten Things I Hate About You
Varsity Blues
Sooo ... which one's have I missed??
What is everyone's opinion on this movie?? At times I laughed so hard I nearly cried! It makes me want to re-rent a number of these cheesy teen movies again!!
what are you thoughts??

I thought the movie was really funny - the thing about it was, there were the really stupid, easy to get jokes, but then there was some other pretty clever stuff that they put in. The mix made the movie even funnier, I really liked it a lot. As far as parodies - there was also Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Pretty in Pink, and my memory fails me on the others. I don't want to get too much into it and spoil it for those who haven't seen it - it's worth the money though to go see.

I thought the movie was hilarious too. I've seen most of the movies it parodied so it was fun to watch. The cheerleading scene at the game was the best part. I also thought it was clever that they had Lacey Chabert parody Jennifer Love Hewitt's part in Can't Hardly Wait, since both girls starred on Party of Five. You forgot about Sixteen Candles, Risky Business, and Porkys. I'm sure there are a ton of others that were missing.

Not So Much...
Sorry to ruin the fun but I thought this movie was pretty pathetic. The only scenes that really cracked me up where the opening scene and the cheerleaders (try-outs and the game). Even though I think some parodies can be very amusing, I found this one quite lacking.

Also, Back to the Future . . .
I laughed - it was considerably more clever than I thought it would be, and although I agree w/ ExGreek that parts lagged, I found it to be way better than I expected.

I laughed my ass off, although the movie did set a new low for sheer raunchiness (sp?).
Oh and I was highly appreciative of the gratuitious nudity, it was like a revist to the 80's.

Bad Movie
This movie was just ridiculous, although I did like Scary Movie, which makes fun of other movies, as this one does. I fell asleep during the movie; it was that bad. I did laugh at the opening, but other than that, I thought this movie was just hidious! I do not recommend it at all.

James, you are right, it was like a revisit to the 80's! Movies that are shown on tbs, etc stuff like that maybe, lol

I'm glad I wasn't hte only one disappointed in teh movie.
did anyone notice that the previews didn't go with the movie? Jamie presley is shown in the preview with her short blonde hair and with the long hair(cheerleader captain), but in the movie she doesn't have short hair. Weird!

Come on.....this movie was HILARIOUS!!! Ok, absolutely No offense meant here...but maybe some of you didn't get some of the jokes because of age. If you're 18/19ish you may not have even recognized some of the movies. Only reason I say, because there was a group of younger ladies (I'm only 27) and they didn't laugh at all and didn't get it.
But, it's just a fun movie, loved it!

I agree, it was a hilarious film, and anyone who was disappointed disappoints me because how can you go into the film with very high expectations? Haha, it was great though. I just wish there was some "Dazed & Confused" in it.
