Red face Date Party Ideas

Hi guys, my name is Izzy. I'm in Delta Phi Epsilon and the social assistant. My chapter has never planned a date party before so this aspect of the position was just added. I'm really excited to be the first but I need some ideas.

A lot of other sororities and fraternities on my campus go to sporting events like hockey games, which I have looked into. But as a chapter we decided that if sisters want to attend the date party then it will come out of pocket as opposed to our budget because we want to put that money towards a better planned formal than we've had in the past.

This would be in the fall, around November and in Michigan. If anyone would love to give me some tips or even suggestions for a Date Party, I would love to hear them.

Mini golf and go-karting are usually fun! Corn mazes are good for October. Ice skating is good for colder weather.

Date parties can also be at bars/venues, like a mixer but with guys the girls invited.

It's also fun to do a "my tie" date night where a friend in the sorority sets you up with a date but doesn't tell you who he is and then buys 2 matching ties, one for the date, one for the sister. And when you get to the event, you look around to find the person wearing the same tie as you.

Destination Unknown is also fun, when no one but the social chair knows the location. You can also do it with steps along the way, like ice skating, then a bar, etc.

Date parties are also usually themed.

If a bar is involved, you're definitely going to either hire a bus or designate sober drivers and don't let any of the guys drive themselves unless they do the same thing.

This shouldn't involve reinventing the wheel. Do you have an adviser you could consult?
