PBS is having a documentary on the Miss America pageant tonight at 9 - it's part of the "American Experience" series so it should be good. They are going to mention Bess Myerson and Vanessa Williams, among others.

I actually watched it tonight, and it was pretty interesting. I must have been an older one though. I seemed to remember a pagent winner who had her crown taken away because it was found that she was pregnant. I guess the rules specify that the winner must not have any dependants/children adopted or otherwise, and she would have given birth before her reign was up. Did anyone else hear about this?
