The information you need is here --> I'm rushing 'for' a certain sorority. When you are done with that, please read other articles through out the Sorority Recruitment forum.

To my knowledge, there's been no definitive word on Kappa Delta recolonizing at ASU yet. Paging ASU peeps and KD peeps for information.
ETA: is a recolonization planned for this spring 2014?

There is currently not an active Kappa Delta Chapter on Arizona State's campus but 12 other wonderful organizations. At this point, it is my understanding that all colonizations are on hold until we can get the entire community healthy.
I would go through ASU's recruitment with an open mind. Although it is not as competitive as some recruitments it is competitive. I would make sure you have excellent grades and activities and I would have as many recommendations as you can get for each chapter. They are expecting 1500 women to through in the fall.
Good Luck.

Which ASU are you talking?
Arizona State
Arkansas State
Appalachian State
We are assuming you mean Arizona State.
If you are at Arizona State there is no KD chapter there. There is 12 other chapters though. Some chapters will participate in informal spring recruitment, some won't. Otherwise formal is in the fall.

Thank you, ASUADPi. My assumption… my bad. Insert chagrined face here.

AZTheta-I would have assumed the same thing except that I haven't heard of ANY colonization plans at ASU. It would be all over social media.

Since this seems to have been answered, why the thread title?

The only applicable school can be Appalachian State. I tried to get a gauge of if they would be doing a significant informal rush based on previous numbers, but didn't have enough data.
I'll take a leap and presume they ARE doing informal and the OP is preparing to attend an event. So, to answer THAT question, go in dressed nice while appropriate to the event. If jeans and a sweater are the right outfit, just make sure you are polished, good shoes, cute accessories, good hair and makeup (but this isn't the Miss America pageant; no need to spackle on the makeup), etc. Go in prepared to be friendly, open, forthright and charming. Smile, answer questions in full sentences, and don't hog the conversation, especially if you are in a group of other rushees with a smaller number of sorority members. A great piece of advice I read here long ago is go in with 3 stories in your back pocket that share something about you and highlight your awesomeness without being arrogant. Another concept to think about is the "elevator pitch." In the sales world, we all work on a 30 second spiel (the approximate time it takes to ride an elevator with a stranger) that describes what we do and why you should buy from me. You will be asked a myriad of times some variation of who are you and why should we pledge you? That will come out as What's your major, what's your home town, what did you do last summer... but the question behind the question is Who are you and why should we pledge you. Good luck!
