The Most Interesting Schools

Props to Iowa, of course. I'm a little perplexed about a few of these, but the writer obviously has a political bent that probably gave a few of these a bump.

What are you seeing or saying? No problem here either.

Happy to see UCSB on the list! Yes, I am so chill…*cough*

UT is on the list, so I'm happy.

I'm saying that Drake has no place on that list. But it WOULD have access to high level politics if that's your gig. And for me, it is, but for a lot of the world that is not anywhere near their idea of interesting.

"Interesting" is not only entirely in the eye of the beholder, it's also incredibly vague. The author admits that the list is entirely subjective. I would add pointless.

This. There are a couple of schools on this list that are a bit unique, but I'm not even finding explanations as to why most of these schools are "interesting." In some cases, the cities/towns they're located in are described, and the college/university isn't even mentioned.

But hey, some of these schools have good sports programs, big parties, and snowball fights… Sooooo interesting!

Well, you have to admit the cute dog with the tutu and sparkly legwarmers is pretty interesting

I'm just thrilled to know that my alma mater is in a "hip" zipcode (although how that happened I'll neve know)

Agreed. Pitt is a lot of things, but I wouldn't necessarily refer to it as "hip".

I wonder if the students at Brown realize how much more their education would cost if the university did pay taxes? Oh, to be young and clueless again!

I dunno...In a way it's sort of cute. It reminds me of Charlie the Tuna being all cheezed off because the Starkist fishermen didn't want him. Dude, believe me, you're better off where you are.

The majority of students there don't seem to worry about how much their education costs (just based on who I know that goes there and the general student body), so I don't think it affects them that much. Brown isn't what I'd call down-to-earth as far as the campus culture is concerned. I imagine there's a lot of Brown grads who are surprised when the rest of the world is not the same as the school.

Most people do know that the subsidy helps. It's nice to be a non-profit and all, but when you have two expensive elite universities surrounded by a city that's really poor (in a state that's not doing so well either). Most people support the Universities paying [i]something.[\i] But what do I know? I'm just a naive ivory tower dweller.

I came thisclose to choosing UT. Austin is a great town; so much to see and do (and eat!). I don't know if UT actually is more interesting than my school, but I am fairly certain it is warmer than 20 degrees in Austin as I write this!
