Greek Letter Organizations in Mexico?

The discussion of expansion to Canada has made me wonder about whether any of the GLOs have expanded or attempted expansion into Mexico? I know that at one point Phi Iota Alpha had a brother group "Phi Tau Alpha" at the Juarez institute back in the 40s, but that's all I've been able to find.

I've heard of expansion of the NPHC GLOs into the Caribbean and Africa (with Alumni groups in Europe and the Far East), AEPi going to Israel and half(?) the NPC and NIC with chapters in Canada, but when I google "fraternity mexico -'new mexico'" almost all I get is news stories about racist parties. (more or less the same for sorority).

So any NPC, NIC or NPHC expansion or attempted expansion in Mexico?

I doubt any NPCs have ventured to Mexico.

I would think the main reasons for this (and most likely for other councils) are the huge cultural and educational differences between the United States and Mexico, not to mention the language barrier. The Canadian educational system more closely mirrors the US system.

They have something equivalent down there because a lot of the Mexican women I've taught over the years have talked a lot about their hermandades.
