IU fall informal rush..as a junior?
Hello all! I'm currently a sophomore at Indiana University in Bloomington. I've always been interested in sorority life, but my freshman year I missed the formal recruitment deadline by one day (heartbreaking, really) & this year, my place of work had a lot of people quit unexpectedly and I was suddenly given a lot of hours, meaning that I wouldn't have time for formal recruitment (I didn't feel that it would right to leave my job hanging).
However, I had one of my friends in a sorority tell me about informal rush in the fall. I previously had no idea that it existed, so I'm a little shaky on the details. On the IU Panhellenic recruitment website, it says that anyone with a sophomore standing or above can rush in the fall. Is that true? I'd never heard of anybody rushing as a junior, but I would absolutely love to. I'll be here an extra year at least, due to my late major declaration, and I exceed the posted minimum GPA requirements for all sororities.
I know that very few sororities hold informal rush, but I have no "ideal sorority" in my head that I HAVE to get into. I'm very open! Has anybody ever heard of a case like mine?
