Tailgating
When your college plays at home or away games, do you make it a point to drop by the other chapters? I'm relativley new, so i haven't done any of that yet? Who here has done that.
To be more specific, do you ever tailgate with other chapters? And which big games/events did you do it for.
Also, Texas Tech vs. Iowa, I wanna see as many fraternities at the game as possible, hang the flag high and proud.
Evanc.
P.S. yes, this thread is very unorganized and retarded, but hey, this is my first or second post on here! hahaha

We always have a tailgate with a fraternity - every home game - they provide the alcohol we provide the food - works out best that way!
at the Iowa/Texas Tech game - you'll see plenty of Iowa Greeks there trust me, i'll be one of them - we'll probably all be in one area getting ready for the big game!

Our football team SUCKS so we don't really tailgate because nobody really goes. The only game everyone goes to is homecoming and we of course tailgate there. Actually our tailgate is called "Stadium Stomp" and it's across the street from the stadium on this field. We share a tent with a fraternity, this year we shared with Phi Sigma Kappa. It's a lot of fun tho. I'm sure if we had a good football team, we would tailgate more!

People at Bethany are not real big on school spirit, but we tailgate for Homecoming. Every fraternity and sorority has a tent with food and beer, and everyone visits everyone else's tents. It's fun, and I wish that we would do it more often! Our school doesn't play too many colleges that have Greek systems, but even if they did, it wouldn't matter because no one ever travels with their team. God bless Division 3 sports!

Hahahha, the words "Duke" and "football" don't even belong in the same sentence. Very few people here care about football - it's hard to when we haven't won a game in something like three years - it's all about basketball.

At UM, its usually whoever was your Greek Week partner in the Spring is your tailgate buddy for football season. Or whoever you hand out with the most or is left. We all do it. Its done for all games and the social chairs usually order shirts for them.
And I know for away, some fraternities usually go hang out with a the chapter of their org at the different school and party.

At Georgia Southern we barely went into the games. We ususally spent the whole game in the parking lot drinking and cooking out. I think that the whole time I was there I may have seen in total half of one game.
However, since we are so good at football lately there is probably more time spent in the game....nah, maybe not

I go to an affiliate school of University of Michigan. We still go to the tailgates on the golf course, and usually whoever even goes out of the 3 sororities hangs out with Delta Sigma Phi. For the UofM vs Michigan State game, we have a huge blowout tailgate and it's really fun.

At UCF, we pair up with a fraternity, and ride a bus to the stadium. (We us the Citrus Bowl which is about 15 minutes away). The busrides are always fun- we usually do lawteys etc on the way there. When we get to the field, we usually tail gate the whole day. Hardly any of us makes it into the games to watch football. Some do, but most stay by the keg!! UCF Knights are growing and had a great record this past fall!!

Like MaryMay said, when the UCF football team is playing the sororities and fraternities pair up for a busride to the Citrus Bowl.
And, to answer your other question, I have visited other ZTA chapters but not when our football team was playing. I went to the University of Florida for Gator Growl and I stopped by the ZTA house at UF.

At the State Univ of West Georgia, I went to my first football game in October. There were some AGD collegiates that I was proud to see..of course, I don't think they were wearing their letters, I just knew them by site. I think only the fraternity guys were wearing their's.
WGa restarted its football program around 1981, a couple of years after I graduated. I don't think it has really become a social thing to attend..especially since the game are played at the local HS stadium far from campus so it make it hard to get a big crowd, unfortunately. With the costs of a new stadium, I seriously doubt if WG ever gets one..too bad..it needs something to boost school spirit now cause if the now collegiates don't have the football/tailgaiting spirit, I doubt they will improve much after they graduate and move away from Carrollton.
