The Newsroom
It's on HBO, about the production of a nightly news program. It's so good and my latest series binge. Does anyone watch it?

The first season was excellent. If you liked the West Wing, you'll enjoy this. It does get a little preachy at times, but it's written by Aaron Sorkin, so that's par for the course.

I really liked it. I'm only on episode 2 of season 2 though.

My husband and I are fans. I love, love, LOVE West Wing, and even Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. We haven't seen last night's episode yet, but we're otherwise caught up.
Spoiler (Highlight to read): Has anyone else been struck by the similarities of Geona to the current crisis in Syria (other than the fact that US isn't the perpetrator in real life?

I love The Newsroom but wasn't paying full attention last night. I'll watch it again tonight. I did catch what Will told her at the very end.
I'm finding season 2 to be a little harder to follow at times. Perhaps I'm just not watching attentively, but it feels like it has jumped around a lot. I fell in love with this show from the first episode of the first season. It does have a West Wing tone to it.
I <3 Jeff Daniels anyway-

I hate the telling everything through the context of a cut up deposition. Not the best. I haven't watched yesterday's episode, but I'm hoping we've caught up to the present now?

Yes, those are the episodes I haven't liked. We seem to be caught up to the present now.

She's not my favorite character but why hate? I see her as insecure and unsure of herself, which I find annoying.

Because she's annoying and needy and everything stereotypical badly written female characters are made to be.

She's not my favorite, but she fits the "Donna" mold from West Wing. I disliked Donna more. Even though she's not great, I appreciate the great writing of Sloan and (sometimes) Mackenzie.

I like Sloan, too. Mackenzie has her moments.
