Where do you get your stitched letters?

Where do you all get your stitched letters?

There is a place near my college that stitches letters. They're usually nice quality, but they're sometimes a nightmare to deal with! Also, they charge a lot. If I bring in my own tee shirt ($3-5), with my own fabric ($1-3), they charge me $15 to sew the letters on, a $3 fee for my own shirt. I mean, it's not bad (roughly $24 for a shirt).

I was wondering where you get your stitched letters though. I am looking to buy some online this summer haha.

My shirts and hoodies and sweatshirts with stitched letters have either been:

A: I made them myself, and used my machine with a zig-zag stitch to sew on the letters after they were first attached to the shirt with heat-n-bond. It's not difficult and cost me about $10-$15 in materials (including the sweatshirt or shirt) and about 1.5 hours of time.

B: Bought the shirt and materials and had someone who worked in a professional shop sew them or embroider them. Cost me $12, including the $8 she charged for labor. She does accept commissions, so if you PM me, I'd be glad to give you her info. Super fast turnaround and my sisters use her extensively.

C. Ordered online....I only have one in that category and it was extremely expensive. Then again, it was a pink zip up hoodie, with pink hibiscus print letters, embroidery on both sleeves and on the back....so it was a little out of my comfort zone and talents to create myself.

I think there are a million threads (pun) about this, but I use customgreekthreads.com, elitegreeks.com, and somethinggreek.com (no satin stitch).

misscherrypie, could you PM me the info of the person that you and your sisters use? Would I be able to ship her the material and shirt and have her ship them back?
Thanks!

I (and a lot of my sisters) use http://www.etsy.com/shop/LaHerds. She's really great and isn't expensive at all. There was a mix up between her and one of my sisters and she redid the shirt and shipping completely for free! Definitely check her out.

Seconding LaHerds!!! It can take a while to receive your order, but once you do, they are GORGEOUS and well made! She has a wide selection of shirt types, patterns, and colors for letters/shirt fabric as well.

Not to advertise (I am not paid by somethinggreek or anything) but I used to get all mine from here. Only reason I don't anymore is because I have too many. Only other place I get merchandise from (and usually only place I get it at all now) is at conventions. Your organization should have vendors who offer amazing deals.

www.edgepromowear.com is by far my favorite place to order stitched letters. Super cheap, very friendly and personal, and quick turnaround.

I really like etsy. Most sellers have a huge selection of fabrics to choose from. I did however find Lilly Pulitzer letters at JennaBenna.com in my sorority print.

I've looked at LaHerds but was nervous about the quality. I shall give her a try now though! I want american flag letters so badly, and she has put a couple examples up recently that look nice. Thanks everyone!

gonegreek.com is pretty good, and they usually have a deal of the day, and they have american flag letters!
