Help Me Design a New Badge!
I'm getting a replacement Theta badge because my initiation one fell off at my birthday dinner after chapter :/
SO I don't want to spend more than $300 on the badge (I am a college student after all)
I know I want it monochromatic... either seed pearl, black onyx, or maybe my birthstone aquamarine. I would really love to get a chapter guard too (can't decide between chased or plain) I also hope to add a scholarship pearl eventually, as well as a dangle when I hopefully get on exec...
so knowing this is a growth piece, what would you recommend?
THANKS LOVELIES- and feel free to PM me if you know of a vintage badge that fits this description!

Not a Theta but have you looked at the options available through Theta's official jeweler (hjgreek, I think)?

I think they are already designed. You just have to select one!

It's not for sale, but here's my 14K large crown onyx badge:

You aren't going to find a vintage badge with onyx or aquamarine. Those are both fairly recently designed options. A full pearled badge is an easier find. A small crown badge is also a lot easier to find than large crown.
We have a sister here who can probably help you with a pearled badge

Ouch! I'm so sorry you lost your initiation badge. (Were you actually initiated with it or was it your big sister's badge? The Theta chapter at my school never had their new members' badges arrive in time for initiation.)
My suggestion: Pearls are always classy. Perhaps you could do pearls with aquamarine points?
And definitely go for the guard. It will help keep you from losing the new badge - that's the whole point of a guard. One of my freshman year roommates was a Theta, and she went for the chased guard - very pretty.

Yes, unfortunately it was the actual badge I was initiated with, which is sentimental but we didn't have any engraving on the back.
I do know I want to keep it all the same color, whatever color I get; so probably not the different color points; and I also want the small badge.
Options are:
-vintage (preferably with a story) or extra extra points if it's from the Gamma Omega chapter
-new, small pearl badge
-new, small black onyx badge
-new, small aquamarine badge (my birthstone)
-new, small badge with initiation month birthstone (October so opal or tourmaline?) -- would this be a weird thought? lol
like I said, my budget is $300.

According to Wiki, and what I've always known as an October birthday, October birthstone is opal or PINK tourmaline.
"The Jewelry Industry Council of America updated the list in 1952[13] by adding alexandrite to June and citrine to November; specifying pink tourmaline for October; replacing December's lapis with zircon; and switching the primary/alternate gems in March."

I was born in March, so my birthstone is Aquamarine,
but I was wondering if it would be weird to get a badge with the October birthstone to represent a new beginning with Theta?

Theta allows you to personalize your badge anyway you see fit, so any stone that has meaning to you seems appropriate. If it feels weird to you, maybe it wouldn't be right. If you would find meaning in a kite of aquamarine or opal...more power to you. I suspect an opal kite would be pricey.
