Secret Santa Gifts

If you had to get a secret santa gift with a $20.00 maximum what would you get.

MY person just happens to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha but she also sings with me in a Praise team at Church. What should I get her?

Thumbs up

Try picture frames or candles.
I just bought a picture frame for one of those setups.
Also, if you know the person's music tastes, a CD works.

ST had great ideas! I like to write so the first thing I thought of was a journal or stationary set.

Let me tell ya. It's gonna be hard finding something NICE with AKA on it for less than $20. LMAO

Like the sorors mentioned, those gifts would be nice. I know down here at our "Dollar Tree" they have, well HAD wonderful gifts and they didn't look like "dollar store" gifts.

I got her a nice picture frame/album from a store called Dress Barn...It cost $10.44 (including tax). It was silver with a design engraved in it. The back was black (sort of like velvet material but not really velvet ~ I don't know what you call that stuff). But anyway the party was tonight (yes I was very last minute) but she enjoyed the gift. She said how did I know she likes picture albums/frames (she takes a lot of pictures) and I told her I just guessed. Before I went out I didn't know what I was going to get her. I actually went in the store to get a jewelry set but I don't know how sensitive her skin is so I opted out of that one. I'm glad I went with the picture frame/album she really enjoyed it.

Thanks for all who answered the question . I got a nice jewelry set. The people in my group got some nice gifts that really suits their personalities. It was a good night.

Question Bah Humbug!

My family does a gift exchange every year, the price of the gifts being $20 or less, I believe. Every year I get a male, which really sucks for me b/c I am SUCH a prissy, girly-girl who doesn't really know much about guy things such as cologne, etc that cost under $20...Last year I got someone assorted cologne--good stuff too for a bit over $20 bucks...

This year I don't know what to get my cousin, who is a college student, besides maybe a gift certificate to Wherehoue or Tower Records...But then again many college students, excluding myself, don't buy CD's--they burn 'em!! So, I guess I'll be getting cologne again...

Can someone tell me what's a good present for him (he's 19 yrs old), besides cologne?? What types of cologne do young males wear??

Maybe a gift card to the gap or old navy (or any clothing store that he frequents)
The gift certificate to a record store will work too. I know that I have some burnt cd's but I also have some cd's that I purchase. Everytime that you burn a CD you are taking away from their profit.

Red face ARE PEOPLE TRYING TO TELL ME SOMETHING?!?!

I have a story about this!

I know this has nothing to do with finding a gift for a male, but since we are talking about secret santa----girl, lemmetellya!

This year I was invovled in 2 secret santa exchanges. One was within my chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha and one was through a circle of friends, here, on my campus. The latter group actually started back in high school and those of us who came here to TAMU just kept up the tradition and invited new frieds to join us. ANYWAY!

Ladies, why did I get the EXACT SAME GIFT FROM BOTH OF MY SECRET SANTAS?!?!?! And why was the gift a pedicure set? Are they trying to tell me something? Even though this is TX, I might just have to stick to closed-toe shoes year round, am I known as the girl with the crusty feet? OH, so shameful. I pray, they just figured I'd like them because I'm into cosmetics and salons (I ultimately want to own my own spa/makeup line for black women) and the sets were pink. I pray! Oh LAWD, don't let me be the girl with the crusty feet!

Soror, I'm sorry, but this is hilarious!! LMAO!!! I'm sure they weren't trying to tell you anything! But that is too funny that you thought that! LOL!! Do you give yourself pedicures all the time? I know I do, so that would be a very welcome gift to me. So much so, I bought myself one, lol, foot spa and all!

Well, I have a flair for arts and crafts and when it comes time to give someone a present, I live in the craft store. I make plaques, candles, scrapbooks, jewelry boxes, and anything else that catches my eye as I'm walking down the aisles.

The best gift that I can think of is to make a picture frame. The frame can cost anywhere from $5-10. Paint is only a dollar. You can decorate it anyway that you want. And, you can buy little accents to personalize it (small rulers, apples for a teacher etc)

See Soror, that's the very reason why I don't like to participate in that secret santa stuh. Even as a child I would give GREAT gifts, but the person who had my name, would get me some ole lame stuh.

When I did participate a few years ago. Included with the "not over $20" was a wish list. The person HAD to purchase one of the three items on the list. That way, you didn't end up with some ole lame stuh.

Now, I gotta go to work and hand out these Dollar Tree 2002 calandars and planners. (No Secret Santa here!) Just giving a gift, because it's the season for giving.
