I thnk that National might be able to help you. I know that when I was in college they were an excellent resource. Good luck with Rush!

This past year we did Clueless as our skit and it turned out really cute. I can send you a copy if you want.
The songs we normally do are:
We are the Deephers, Boom Boom, When I came to (your school), Consider yourself, come along, a song we call "percy", We welcome you to DPhiE (to the theme of the coke song), I will survive(dphie version), D PhiE spelling song
If you want words to any of these let me know and i will send them to you
Thanks for your praise -it meant alot :-)

Cream--
I work with National as the Colony Advisor, and unfortunately, if you believe it, we don't have a Delta Phi Epsilon song book. They have some skit stuff, but a lot of it isn't really up to date.
Jilly, if you could send me that stuff, I would SOOOO appreciate it As for the praise, sweetie, you all deserve it! I'm pulling for you You can email me the stuff at dphiegirl@hotmail.com.
Thank you so much!!

Heather,
I'll look around for sorority songs that I might still have. Keep in mind that I haven't been through rush for a decade now! I wrote a song for my rush a few years ago which we sent to national (I think) and we did very well. If I find it, I'll e-mail it to you, if that's ok.

One of our sisters this year made up a really good chant based on one of the cheerleading cheers in bring it on - i will find the lyrics this weekend and post it. Other songs we've done are Boom Boom, Remember, D is for Delta, D-E-L-T-A... I have never seen any skits done at UBC - we moved to a no frills rush the year after I joined, so I can't help you there

OK, I remember singing Boom Boom at convention, but I'd NEVER heard it before then. Can someone send me the words to that? Also, Siob, what is Remember?
Does anyone remember "When I came to (insert school name)?"
I love that song
Anyone have any slower songs for rush?
HELP!
YITS,
Heather

Boom Boom
Boom Boom
I wanna go DPhiE
Boom Boom
The best sorority
Boom Boom
I wanna go DPhiE
Don't you?
Uh-huh
Boom Boom
Are girls are all the best
Boom Boom
We're high above the rest
Boom Boom
I wanna go DPhiE
Don't you?
Oh yeah!!
Remember is an extremely catchy tune (but can get down right annoying after a while ). It is the perfect song for recruitment because it sticks in all the rushees heads.
Remember, remember, member
DPhiE is always together
Laughing, singing, doing whatever
We remember when we're together
you basically just keep repeating that over and over.

When I...
When I came to (your school), I promised mama i'd be, real good.
Now I'm, here a while I just stop and smile, I wish, I could.
Dance, romance, a bit
Now I'm a campus hit, still in a whirl
So I pledged a sorority and now I'm a DphiE girl
All the, frat boys hang around now that I'm in town, for, they see
That girls may come and go but the best they know, is D Phi E
So come on everyone, come and join the fun, give it a whirl
Come and pledge a sorority and be a D Phi E girl

In case I don't say this enough, you all are awesome Thanks for the songs. I'm taking them with me for my sisterhood retreat with Kappa Colony in January. And jilly, thanks for the skit. I'm going to see how that goes as well. If you could send me the rest of the info via email, that would be awesome.
Another skit we used to do was Betty, the dopey rushee. Betty is this girl who isn't very pretty, very shy, but has oodles of potential. So Betty goes through rush, and basically, the idea is that by becoming a member of D Phi E, she realizes her potential! You do this whole makeover thing, on top of all this other stuff. Is it slightly over the top? Yes, but it's pretty funny too
Any other skit ideas or songs, keep em coming!!
YITS,
Heather

We had a Masquerade theme. I wrote a song which I will e-mail you if you like this idea. (If I can find it.) We had name tags that looked like pretty masquerade masks. We decorated the room to make it look like a ball. After we served food and the rushees were sitting, we sang. It was successful.
Another theme was Grease. Actually, it was more the 1950's. We wore poodle skirts and leather jackets and sang songs and cheered. It sounds similar to your Betty theme in terms of the Sandy makeover. We sang "When I Came to College" that Jilly posted.
Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...Oompa Loompas and all. I think DPhiE was the Golden Ticket. I think there is a "DPhiE Can" song using the "Candyman Can" song. Basically, you need a lot of candy for this party.
DTV like MTV. Things have changed on MTV since I rushed, so be creative.
I still like the song "We are D Phi E, I got all my sisters with me" from "We are Family."
The movie The Little Mermaid. Can you tell I like movies? Actually, watching any of these movies can be a sisterhood retreat event.
It has been a while since I rushed so maybe you should contact individual chapters. That way you can get some new ideas and update the rush and song book for your colony and DPhiE National. I always found brainstorming to be very helpful so who knows what great ideas you might come up with on your retreat. Good Luck!
