How do you define "sister"?

What does being a sorority sister mean to you?

It means knowing that any of my sisters will have my back at any moment, so I should always be prepared to be a shoulder to cry on, a set of arms to hug, and be there for anyone in any way shape or form. It means holding myself to a higher set of values, ones my sisters share and will always understand because they are what help to hold us together. It means being a role model for myself, my sisters, and my community, and never skimping out on my responsibilities to myself and them. And knowing that I'm connected to something bigger than myself, almost bigger than I can imagine, and living up to the ideals that those who have come before me have set.

I know I'm a relatively new sister of my organization, but in the ten months (almost exactly! Tomorrow is ten months to the day from bid day) I've been a member I've learned so much about myself and about what it means to be a sister of Delta Gamma that I had to jump on this. Also, our elections are coming up so it's made me think a lot about what being a Delta Gamma means to me and how I can potentially help guide my chapter in the future towards what Delta Gamma and our sisterhood truly has the potential to be

I apologize in advance for the rambling.

We will have secrets no one else can have. I may not agree with my sisters, but I will love them no matter what.

It means, for me, to try and live up to every principle set forth in the SAI Symphony. Sisterhood challenges you to be better than you think you can be.

Sisterhood means love and forgiveness. Sisterhood means biting your tongue when you don't want to. Sisterhood is speaking up when you know it would help the chapter. Sisterhood is doing the dirty work no one else can or will do.

Sisterhood is reaching out to all your sisters. Sisterhood is lifelong friendships and memories.

Sisterhood is growing up.
