Opinion Please
If I send food with my son to a small fraternity pregame party will it make him look like a mama's boy or will the eats just be appreciated?

My experience with college guys is food is always appreciated, but your son would be the best one to tell you if it would be appropriate.

Aw, this is a cute question. My mom used to bring baked goods by my brother's fraternity house, and they were appreciated, but again, ask your son.

Is he already in the fraternity?

Guys love food and they'll probably ask their brother (your) son to bring more food next time If your son is ok with it, do it.

I'm assuming you are sending him with enough to share with everyone right? If so, those were always a hit at my fraternity house.

He is a pledge. They are a small house and I would be sending a large batch of brownies or a sheet cake.
I just wanted to bounce it off of y'all before I asked him. Thank you for the input!

Where I come from: male college students getting free food that they don't even have to cook.
Send the brownies (after checking with son of course)!

Eh, I don't know if I'd send any food with him being a pledge. This may be seen as trying too hard to get a bid. And a cake is a little.. weird to me. I guess? I don't know.
I'd wait until after he's in the fraternity. Then send all the food you want! (with his permission, of course)

He already has signed his bid if he's a pledge.
He may become known as the food pledge. Not a bad thing.

Right. But if Teke is like most other fraternities, he's not a brother until he's initiated.
I think I'd wait until after he's initiated to do things like that. Then have at it!

I don't know the answer to your question, but it took me back to my college years - my sister-mother's mom used to send things with her or have us (and/or an entire small fraternity chapter of our friends) over for dinner regularly. It's so nice when parents are local. Those dinners were so awesome.

My son has signed his bid but is not an initiated brother yet.
I have no Greek experience and I am so glad I found GC. Thanks for the input.

Sorry, totally not what I meant. Haha. One of those moments where I knew what I was saying, but not really. I meant trying to hard to be "liked"... it comes off a little desperate.
I don't know. I just wouldn't do it until I was a brother, I guess.
But then I also think it depends on the chapter and the "campus culture," so to speak.

I agree, wait until he is initiated and then send him with brownies, cookies, bags of chips, dips, cut up sandwiches, etc. (skip the sheet cake ).
